we see some sights here also.

note that JJ's dog only looks suspiciously at the marmite AFTER tasting the vegemite.
― jabba hands, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 07:39 (sixteen years ago)
what i note is it dawning on henry that jj didn't save the best for last.
― estela, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 08:42 (sixteen years ago)

― a╓by's (╓abies), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 13:20 (sixteen years ago)
The most awkward thing when I first started my job here were exchanges like,"Where's the Marmite?""What's Marmite?"
"Where do you have Milo?""What's that?""You're not kiwi, are you."
That and half the people in Auckland are from other parts of the world and ask me for products that I not only have never heard of but aren't available in NZ and send me on a ridiculous scavenger hunt about the store.
― a╓by's (╓abies), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 13:24 (sixteen years ago)
the real winners of this contest: milo and fake jaffas from darrel lea
and jjj's dog trying to swallow the bovril jar
― lxy, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 23:51 (sixteen years ago)

― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 00:00 (sixteen years ago)
I could use some hot buttered toast with bovril right about now.
― American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 00:03 (sixteen years ago)
this thread should be renamed henry's choice.

the toast in this photo has been spread WAY TOO THICK with double-blind substances
― RAPTOBER (sic), Thursday, 15 October 2009 02:51 (sixteen years ago)
agreed.
shoulda been cut in triangles, not squares
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 02:57 (sixteen years ago)
Triangles = how the cool mums cut itSquares = how your nanna cuts it
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 02:59 (sixteen years ago)
i've suspected all along that the vegemite testing night was a heavyhanded blunderfest.

we WARNED them, we tried, we did all we could
it was no good
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:22 (sixteen years ago)
let's not overlook the central problem, that you guys sent us marmite and vegemite
― jergins, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:24 (sixteen years ago)
xxp that stuff is impossible to spread lightly, way too thick. the bovril spread beter than the other two. maybe travelling over the IDL made them congeal? changing hemispheres caused some kind of hardening reaction?
xp NO ONE warned me about cutting into triangles, btw, therefore i take umbrage at the nanna comment.
― lxy, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:24 (sixteen years ago)
jergins otm
― lxy, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:25 (sixteen years ago)
rong
maybe we should have asked the dudes at the pub to make us a vegemite pizza
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:27 (sixteen years ago)
ugh
― jergins, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:28 (sixteen years ago)
maybe you all should have just mailed some pre-spread toast.
― lxy, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:30 (sixteen years ago)
surprised that they didnt really being it was in The Rocks and was full of American tourists (xp)
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:30 (sixteen years ago)
personally I think people who cant handle a decent deal of vegemite are totes LAVENDER but i'm a huge fan of salt, I guess
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:31 (sixteen years ago)
see this is why you need TONS OF BUTTER: the butter mixes with the marmite and then u only need a little bit and then it all spreads out!
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:33 (sixteen years ago)
maybe if we cut them into triangles next time instead of squares they'll be edible
― jergins, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:33 (sixteen years ago)
nahh
you were way too stingy with the butter
yes you need lots of butter with your vegemite
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:34 (sixteen years ago)
or if you have only got marmite, then lots of butter and nothing else
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:35 (sixteen years ago)
but I find this a good serving suggestions as well:

if you guys are eating something only tolerable by adding lots of butter, maybe you shouldn't be eating it?
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:41 (sixteen years ago)
tell that to snails
― get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:44 (sixteen years ago)
maybe you should eat fries without salt huh
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:46 (sixteen years ago)
that is hardly the same thing!
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:51 (sixteen years ago)
i don't need butter to appreciate jam.
http://www.forgeryleague.com/images/uploads/jam.jpg
― get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:52 (sixteen years ago)
well do you eat jam without butter eh? eh? eh?
its a moot point as i have been known to enjoy vegemite without butter, even if its not quite the same
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:53 (sixteen years ago)
stop going on about that awful picture.
― estela, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:57 (sixteen years ago)
that something awful picture??
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:59 (sixteen years ago)
good point, one takes it you never eat cake, only flour straight from the bag
― RAPTOBER (sic), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:03 (sixteen years ago)
that's ridiculous. vegemite/marmite/etc = complete products made up of many ingredients. you even get a delivery vehicle: bread. then you wanna add butter to disguise that it's crap.cake = complete product made up of many ingredients. you can add frosting to enhance, but you don't need to.jam = complete product with delivery vehicle. no butter needed. it's not crap. it's tasty!
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:39 (sixteen years ago)
I hope nobody wants Mac & Cheese once the tehresa administration comes to power.
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:42 (sixteen years ago)
i'm sending u my spare jar of marmite in yr next care package, tza
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:43 (sixteen years ago)
you don't need cheese to make macaroni unrevolting.and anyway, mac & cheese is a dish. comparing meals/dishes to CONDIMENTS is not really valid.
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:43 (sixteen years ago)
haha i am actually really curious now!
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:44 (sixteen years ago)
marmite is like cherry cola, root beer, dr pepper, and other such kinds of strange american 'flavours': it's revolting to most foreigners.
