whew thank god, apparently my 'it looks like a disaster but i know where everything is' method failed me because i'd apparently filed it away in an expandable file in a box under the bed.

having an Important Things Folder is crucial

i have "important folder is important" for some things...

I have a an "Important Stuff" folder - in a safe deposit box (including my expired passport, which isn't so important now that it is expired...) and a "Special Stuff" box in my closet (including the shoes I got married in and one of 4lex's preemie sized diapers).

this folder came in handy lately as i lost my wallet and needed things like passport/birth cert for getting stuff replaced. to be fair, it is in an entire file box of lots of important files - i'm not a complete disaster, but things that are used frequently do not really fit into organization atm (i should get a file cabinet).

If you saw the state of most of my life, tehresa, you would think I needed 20 file cabinets.

But yeah, you should get one! I could get one, but I don't know that I would manage to motivate myself to use it. Hmmmm.
