idk, i think the selvege is only really telling & worth showing if the fabric was milled by some real high quality manufacturer that has a signature selvedge, and in some cases it makes sense bc selvedge is more resilient than a cut edge, otherwise it's kind of a nonsense detail because every woven fabric has a selvedge

right!

i think the japanese jeans with red selvedge it's like indicating that it was woven on those old levi's looms we hear so much about?

but on a chambray tie from brooklyn it's silly

I still don't really "get" the whole selvedge thing

What I do get though are my new black Helmut Lang corduroys that look pristine that I got for free.

interesting evolution of interpretation of "fun shirts" itt from like, shirts w diff colour sleeves to now basically just shirts with fun prints. i wear the latter but haven't really seen much of the former, not sure i could pull it off but some of the shirts linked upthread are really nice

the white&purple cowboy shirt is gorgeous, i'd love it.

fabric panels would prob be better reversed imho, large print would work better on front panels

also blue oxford cloth doesn't go with everything, i don't hate it on principle but it's a pretty bad combo

yeah i think prints on the front & plain sleeves is normally better but the reverse seems more common.
