I love every single one of these songs, but I'm voting "Sloppy" not only because it's my favorite but because I think it won't be shown much love here.

Please be advised I'm not singling you out Johnny Fever, because we see plenty of that logic on ilx, but, "I'm voting for Mike Huckabee, not because he's the most qualified, but because I think he won't be shown much love".

Voted Mongoloid cos it was my favourite when it first came out & still is, tho yeah, this is a damn solid record

mongoloid was my fave when it came out but i so freakin' love sloppy; the succinct lyrics and delivery still just floor me:

I tried to convince the guys I was in a band with once to cover "Sloppy," but got shot down because the drummer couldn't handle it.

And to that end, it should be noted that Alan Myers was an amazing drummer.

hooboy that stones cover is such a lets-take-you-to-school-on-covering-classics. but then there's THE REST OF THIS ALBUM of equally amazing tracks!

"Mongoloid" was the first song I learned to play, so it's an emotional fave. Might have to go with "Uncontrollable Urge" since it's still startling at how furious it is - even when they play it now.

BTW, "Come Back Jonee" on DEV-O Live is even more intense than the original

The video for Jocko Homo is one my formative memories - I remember being entirely entranced by it at the age of 6. But I voted Mongoloid.

Why oh why does this album always remind me of the Dickies?

Maybe it was my anal alphabetical filing? Maybe I first heard them both around the same time?
The one I want to be true involves the similarities in the backing vocals.

My enjoyment was only peripheral until I saw them live a couple of years ago, but something to do with the sense of auspice means that I also get the Dickies when I hear this album.

I haven't listened to any of this in ages. It used to be "Uncontrollable Urge" or "Gut Feeling," but, in honour of the two hall monitors in Rock 'N' Roll High School, I'm going to vote for "Come Back Jonee." (This did inspire me to play "The Day My Baby Gave Me a Surprize" from the follow-up, which I like just as much.)

this is really tough. im going to go with 'praying hands'. christian evangelicalism as an american bandstand dance craze.

Was tripping the first time i heard "Jocko Homo" (OG self-released single) and mind was blown in numerous ways, so I'm going with that, but this is an amazingly solid, creative and FUN! record first cut to last.

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Votes

Hooray for my two joint favourites being joint top of this poll. Weird, though, I always thought "Gut Feeling" was an unusual favourite, as it doesn't seem to get talked about much

(or at least, before getting this album, I could probably have named about half the tracks on it, and that wasn't one of them)
