Acclaimed Music Top 50 Albums from 2015 poll

The Acclaimed databank for albums doesn't have as many options as the Songs list does, because of that will have to use some bubbling under albums which does make it more fun for me.

I probably haven't listened to any of these *since* 2015. Don't know how I'd settle it if I had, but

But yeah the Sleater-Kinney album somehow combines elements of appeal that I associate with all of the above (Janet WEISS).

For me this is probably the strongest year of the decade but only about 4 albums here would make my personal top 25. Fortunately one of them is my number one: Julia Holter.

Voted for what I can only assume now will be the last great Bjork album

Also, ILM correct for rating Janet Jackson's last great album

Although it’s not reflected in this list, 2015 was a great year for metal. Ghost, Mare Infinitum, Elder, Dodheimsgard, Christian Mistress, KEN Mode, Imperial Triumphant, Tribulation, King Heavy, and Satan, among others, released notable albums.

Hard choice: the best songs on Have You in My Wilderness were a real leap in accessibility for Julia Holter, without any pandering or betrayal of her style. Divers was more even in quality, but felt like stasis after five years of anticipation.

Also it's almost been a decade since In Colour dropped. Jamie's been taking his sweet time...

His next one's due in September. He's put out so many singles since then, I just figured there'd be one imminently, but here we are in 2024...

Speaking of In Colour, since I left this open for so long I'm playing albums I don't really know. This made the Top 5 but missed the Top 50 on ILM. I loved this album, it has a great vibe and the bass is really hypnic. Then there are guess vocals by their other band members. Good stuff and happy that I played this.

Blackheart — my favorite Dawn Richard album.

Weird year. A bunch of stuff I like, very little I love.

Next, I listened to Currents and wish it was on mushrooms, the ride is fun. This is a brilliant album that deserves some love.

It's crazy that Divers is 9 years old

This year must have been my pinnacle for ILM hivemindmeld: it’s the Holter for me, but I love everything in the ILM poll top ten and almost everything in the top 50

Hop Along for me, but so so many great albums here: Divers, Depression Cherry, Sometimes I Sit, Have You In My Wilderness, Art Angels... And not on the list but My Love Is Cool, Poison Season, Sprained Ankle...

I think I probably voted for Every Open Eye best album in the ILM poll at the time. I probably fell most in love with Art Angels but, in this case, it's hard to separate art from the person. Too bad as I adored that album. I need to make up my mind tho.

I knew this poll was a three headed monster and those three did end up on top. The Epic did really well however and almost crashed the party.

I did end up voting for E*MO*TION as I play that album more than any other on this list. I see my vote pushed it over the top.
