Acclaimed Music Top 40 Albums from 2010 poll

Hope to have some fun with these and it's back.

I like quite a few of these (Robyn, Janelle Monáe, Titus Andronicus, Big Boi) but ultimately went with Erykah Badu, a strong album likely overshadowed by its more dazzling predecessor.

Kind of sad to see the top three - if someone told me at the time that all three would never make another great album of their own, I wouldn't have believed it. (I don't like Yeezus all that much and American Dream was a fine but lesser work.)

There are a few that I thought about putting on here but rushed and forgot M.I.A., School of Seven Bells, Ciara, the Knife and the big one Spoon.

Voted for Robyn just ahead of Erykah and Gorillaz. A fair few of the albums on the list that I loved at the time, I haven't gone back to much (Big Boi, LCD, Lindstrøm, Kanye, Lindstrøm, The-Dream etc).

Radio Dept, Kelis, Twin Shadow, Susanne Sundfør, Future Islands, Owen Pallett, Best Coast, Kylie and Hot Chip are the albums from 2010 I still revisit a lot.

Have One on Me was probably the last "new" record to really amaze me. But seeing that I've only heard two others on this list makes me realize I'll never catch up with what other people like.

Really like the Badu and the Emeralds albums but went with Joanna Newsom.

I didn't vote for it, but I remember liking MGMT's Congratulations more than I thought I would - a better album overall than their previous one.

And I still love Big Boi's album. I wonder if the version that was blocked (due to a few tracks with André 3000) has ever leaked, or if it can be accurately pieced together with what's out there.

"royal flush" and "lookin 4 ya" are very available, idk if there's a version of "the train pt. 2" with 3000's verse out there anywhere

In my book, the only albums of AOTY calibre here are Newsom, Kanye and Big Boi.
Others: Warpaint, Luisa Maita, Tulipa Ruiz

There are quite a few that I like but nothing is screaming out for my vote here. Going to vote for [i[Contra[/i] just over New Amerykah, Pt. 2 (Return of the Ankh) and Body Talk.

What happened with Deerhunter? I loved Monomania but I felt like the press and maybe a lot of fans suddenly became lukewarm towards them from that album on.

A number of my favorite albums from the decade -- Four Tet, Robyn, Beach House. Teen Dream takes it though.

I've never heard most of these. (Surprise!) Don't really like nu-Swans, and the Badu is a slightly less good follow-up to an amazing record, so this is either gonna be Diddy or Gil Scott-Heron for me.

I've loved all of the Beach House records but think Teen Dream was their best

Halcyon Digest felt like the best Deerhunter album too, although Microcastle/Weird Era Continued from 2008 was also great

I *want* to love New Amerykah part 2 but it feels like it falls off in its second half :/

I thought High Violet was the National's best album, and How I Got Over is still one of the Roots' best albums - too bad they got no votes, but the competition was too much.

there's gonna be a lot of slow singing and flower bringing
if i keep hearing return of the ankh falls off in the second half

i appreciate "incense"'s decisive break toward jazz fusion, harp and vocals painted stroke by stroke, the right way to transition into "out my mind" imo

def considered voting for the roots, how i got over is prob their best latter-day album

Four Tet deserved better but glad to see Teen Dream do so well

I actually voted for that Roots album that year.

My top ten would probably have (in no particular order) Deerhunter, Robyn, Kanye, Big Boi, Arcade Fire, Janelle Monáe, LCD Soundsystem, the National, the Roots and MGMT...but I feel like there's at least two or three other albums I'd want to include that aren't in that poll.
