ILM Ballot Polls for 2020 and beyond -- the ordering, timing, "I would have voted if I'd known about it," etc

Not opposed at all, JF, just more passionate about the idea of a Women In Country poll. If more than a couple people say they'd vote, I'll start next week with the goal of a rollout the third week of March.

Maybe I can reserve a spot for the Canadian poll right after that finishes.

I'd certainly participate in a Canadian songs poll, but I'd be concerned that, with a relatively small number of voters with wide-ranging tastes, it might end up atomized - dozens and dozens of single votes for interesting artists from 70 years from all ends of the country. On the other hand, if we impose a limitation (such as "only underrated songs" or only from a certain time period), that's probably going to further limit the amount of ballots that could come in. So, a conundrum.

So a poll where we can vote for the complete works of Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Carli Rae Jepsen, Rush, Grimes, Feist, Shania Twain, deadmau5, Michael Bublé AND Drake?

Plus Oscar Peterson, Dream Warriors, Deja Voodoo, Skinny Puppy, Anne Murray, New Pornographers, Martha and the Muffins, Tanya Tagaq, Harmonium, Triumph, Gilles Vigneault, AND the Rankin Family!

And Organized Rhyme.

I think there's a wealth of stuff for a Canadian poll. (Though I'll admit to being at least a decade out of touch.) I'd try to gently suggest that voters limit themselves to one or two Neil/Joni songs--that would be the biggest danger if left unchecked, I think, that it becomes Neil vs. Joni--but, obviously, vote for whatever you want.

Or Neil/Joni/Carly Rae Jepsen--she seems to be popular around here.

i'm not in a position to tell ppl what is canadian and what isn't, but for myself there's a difference between those, like neil and joni, who decamped to california 50 years ago, and those, like the hip/sloan/~RUSH~, who did not
