I really liked what I heard of the Thumbscrew but I didn't get to the whole album yet as there was a lot of Halvorson this year between digesting Amaryllis/Belladonna and the Tacuma collab and seeing Code Girl live. I look forward to listening to all of it. The Anna Butterss was really good too but I didn't spend enough time with it, through no fault of it's own, cf. Lage and Frisell albums.

i kind of hate it when people are like "i was surprised ____ didn't place!" bc it's always something that's obvious to me why it didn't place (usually it's some weird niche album) but if i had one of those it was the aldous harding album. i thought she was reasonably popular and that that album was well-liked
