nm I thought it happened in 2009, but that was Fever Ray.

I still have only heard "Into You" by Ariana Grande. I thought that was a great song, but I just don't ever hear her songs out (Thank U, Next only sold 17k where I live) and so I never think to listen to her albums.

Capacity all the way. Lyrically and musically.

Totally forgot this was still to come. It rivals as Dangerous Woman as my favourite album of hers. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did based on Sweetener only having four good songs, but this is great if you ignore 7 Rings.

“shade never made anybody less gay!” was to me almost more egregious than “hey kids spelling is fun!”

anyway I liked the Ariana album (far, far more than the last one) but still some distance less than dangerous woman

I listened to a lot of Big Thief this year, mostly U.F.O.F. I didn't vote for either of them in this poll (though I did vote for UFOF in the tracks poll), and in fact I think I'm pretty much over them as a band and doubt I'll ever go out of my way to listen to them again. I am not even sure why. It was like the clock struck midnight and the magic died.

this Tinashe album is much better than I expected it to be

I voted for this! I never doubted it would place high.

I can't say it's her best but it exposed new facets of her imagination -- and her ability with collaborators -- in a way I wouldn't have thought possible in 2014.

It's crazy how good this is considering I can barely remember anything about Joyride.

Tinashe a few places outside my Top 25 but a very good album and happy it placed so high. HOWEVER, it placing means I have now officially given up on my #1 :(

I think Nightride rather than Joyride was the indicator she still had a killer record in her.

not sure how if I'm expressing this right, but I thought U.F.O.F. was really magical and I didn't want to dilute the experience of it by paying too much attention to Two Hands

Ooh pretty late to all of this but great rollout so far. Tons of stuff I missed this year like this rad Men I Trust album.

CALIGULA was my #1. Stoked 9 others voted for it too. It's an intense experience. If you get a chance to see her live, please do yourself a favor and go.

Not a fan of this style of music but can def see why ppl would love this album.

I think I saw someone on here say earlier in the year that preferring Thank U, Next to Sweetener was like preferring Amnesiac to Kid A, and yes I do to both thank you very much

so much of the music and production feels tepid and boring and there's not enough going on in the songs really keep my attention.

I meant to vote for Lingua Ignota but I missed it on the nomination list

re: Tinashe, "Know Better" is still incredible.
