love this cover art
― nxd, Thursday, 6 February 2020 17:25 (six years ago)
I've said before and I'll say it again: the first two EPs were extraordinary instances of trip-hop revival, everything since then has been middling, with flashes of brilliance here and there.

my no. 1 (.... did you vote alfred???)
Okay I'm listening to the Burna Boy now and it's extremely great. But I do know what is meant by 'tasteful'. A lot of afrobeats tends to be a little less hard-hitting and less raw than hip hop and Caribbean music. The Burna Boy album is particularly smooth and mid-paced. There is stuff out there that's more dancehall influenced, but this isn't it. Worth following the deciated thread if that's what you're looking for

I really fell in love with Jamila Woods in the last couple of months. Had a really good time getting to know her debut as well. Anyone who samples/quotes The Cure, Stereolab and the Dawson's Creek theme tune on the same album was always going to do well with me. Legacy Legacy is an incredible album and whatever position I had it on my list was too low.
― kitchen person, Thursday, 6 February 2020 17:47 (six years ago)
Love Legacy Legacy too. Only criticism is her voice is too amateurish in spots. I mean it sorta is all the time but for some reason it doesn't work in certain spots.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 6 February 2020 17:49 (six years ago)
legacy legacy was my number three. it's just so good.

Ît's no secret that I am to r&b as Tuomas is to rock. Except, well, not really, as I actually enjoy about 5% of it.
