Arthur Russell was sounding really charming yesterday, the song Everybody Everybody in particular. Will hear the rest today. Nilufer Yanya album also seems v enjoyable based on the first few tracks

CFCF has a great write-up and is a lovely idea; almost better to leave it there than spoil the illusion with listening

CFCF is exactly the kind of music I should be really excited about, but so far haven't been able to connect with it, I'll keep trying though.

It's not the case with CFCF, but tbh I often end up enjoying artists' playlists more their actual albums. Spotify's secret weapon! Well that along with driving musicians into lifelong poverty obv.

His "Night Bus 4" mix was actually nommed in the albums poll (I voted for it).

only just got to the part of the rundown that has the erika de casier album on it. it might be a while until i get to the rest of the list as this record has stopped me in my tracks and i'm prob gonna a listen to it for at least the rest of the day.

The Erika de Casier album has really grown on me over the past month.

Imago, there's a really good doc about Arthur Russell that provided the context I needed to finally comprehend what was going on with his music. I wouldn't say I'm a die hard now, but it means a lot more now.

here i'm gonna say something nice about it: "stranger" is one of my absolute favorite vampire weekend songs. unfortunate it takes forever to get to it

I still can't get over the ethnomusicological journey that led them to make the opening track sound like a pastiche of Green Day's "Time Of Your Life"

their worst album and it shamelessly strays into MOR territory at times but its still a great album that i feel ive underrated

i didnt vote for it but i really should have. im listening to it a lot again lately again

An amazing album. Feels more like a solo album than a band album, though. Every song uses whatever tools it needs to get the point across. So many details I love.
