didn't vote for it but there's some really good and lovely things on that kelsey lu record
― ymo sumac (NickB), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 16:21 (six years ago)
really amazing record
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 16:25 (six years ago)
It was enjoyable at the time but I haven't really felt the need to revisit it.

Surprisingly low.

this was a nice discovery through the tracks poll
― nxd, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 16:43 (six years ago)
i just put on the kelsey lu record again and i'm regretting not voting for it. tends to blow my mind in a different way every time i hear it

― The Mandymoorian (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 16:55 (six years ago)
Kelsey Lu was in my top five, beautiful record. Precocious in the best possible way.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:01 (six years ago)
Love the Kelsey Lu, my third album to place. The companion album with remixes she released recently is also nice.

Thank God. My #6. Almighty stuff
― TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:03 (six years ago)
Yesssssssss
Second of mine to place. I wasn't sure it would make it tbh.
― toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:03 (six years ago)
This sounds interesting...
― abcfsk, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:07 (six years ago)
Oh thank God, I was going to be so mad at myself for not voting if this didn't place.
― jmm, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:07 (six years ago)
Such a huge canvas and such a varied palette. I associate this one with outdoor places - it's somehow slightly pastoral, even through the noise and trauma
― TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:07 (six years ago)
You may also vote for it in the metal poll.
― toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:08 (six years ago)
TOO LOW. First of mine to place, I think I had it at #2 in the end.
― emil.y, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:09 (six years ago)
oh i'm gonna finally listen to this record
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:09 (six years ago)
don't know this at all, looks cool
― ymo sumac (NickB), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:10 (six years ago)
close to voting for this but i only gave it one listen
― Saxophone Of Futility (Michael B), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:13 (six years ago)
I haven't listened to this that much (I really have to be in the right mood) but I voted for this.
― silverfish, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:15 (six years ago)
Did you two miss All Bitches Die too? Such righteous vengeance, such restorative anger.
xxp
― emil.y, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:15 (six years ago)
she's great live. I preferred the less refined All Bitches Die but this is a formidable album.
― bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:16 (six years ago)
I also prefer All Bitches Die, which has since become one of my favourite albums of all time, but Caligula's relative pastoralism (lj otm) is to be reckoned with on its own, seemingly less wrathful terms.
― toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:19 (six years ago)
I love both equally at this point. Can't imagine last year without "Do You Doubt Me Traitor".
― jmm, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:29 (six years ago)
Or 'May Failure Be Your Noose'. But the whole album really
― TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 17:49 (six years ago)
I liked it the couple of times I listened but didn't really give it the time it probably needs and deserves. My computer is in the shop for a few days so I will hopefully catch up with it after then.
― With considerable charm, you still have made a choice (Sund4r), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:03 (six years ago)
I think partly it was bc I was expecting it would be really emotionally demanding.
― With considerable charm, you still have made a choice (Sund4r), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:08 (six years ago)
That's a totally fair expectation. I can't listen to it on most days.
― toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:10 (six years ago)
Listened to 4 tracks, and I think I'd play Diamanda Galás instead.

Oh nice. It would have benefited from a lengthy trimming session though.
― toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:38 (six years ago)
Oh wow, wasn't expecting this to place, good one, super chill and groovy
― Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:42 (six years ago)
big fan of this one
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:42 (six years ago)
Re:Ignota - Her persona is inexplicably offputting and garish to me, and the music similarly so, though that’s definitely paradoxical in relation to most of what I listen to. I did briefly really like the previous album (it has a lot of attributes I consider very much my thing) but on repeated listens I found it getting emptier and emptier. I get that the performance of artifice and theatricality is intended, but it just does not gel for me in this project. There’s also always a more negative association to music I know I should like but don’t.
― tangenttangent, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:46 (six years ago)
never heard of this. what is it?
― doorstep jetski (dog latin), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:51 (six years ago)
Shambhala ish group from Montreal. Not jazz.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:53 (six years ago)
completely forgot to vote for this even though i made the album thread lol
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:53 (six years ago)
Had no idea there was any support here at all or I might have given it a vote.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 5 February 2020 18:54 (six years ago)
Never heard of this, but that's an awful band name + album name + album cover combo.
