I want to believe that Brian Wilson is a good nom for this thread. I'm reading his memoir, I am Brian Wilson (with Ben Greenman), and he comes off as such a tender soul. I do know that he had some aggressive acting-out issues (supposedly he greeted Elvis Presley with a flurry of karate chops), but to me they seem less the mark of an a-hole than of a man unable to regulate the rage left in him by his abusive father. I realize these aren't mutually exclusive characteristics, but in him I definitely sense it to be a case of the latter.

i've read all the trashiest BBs biographies and offhand i can't really remember anything that cast brian in a bad light. carl seemed like a nice guy too.

that's so fucking unfair to Lars to compare him with that fucking white nationalist junkie

Brian Wilson used to sneak in the blonde in his coke shack behind Marilyn's back and then wrote The Night Is So Young about her!

not to mention perving on Marilyn's sister

I mean, he does seem like a genuinely nice (if mentally unbalanced) guy but his sexual escapades in the 70s weren't exactly pretty

Yeah, Anselmo is a legit fucking cunt.

Paparazzi attack incidents aside (and tbh I feel paparazzi deserve being mistreated half of the time) I feel like Bjork is very sweet. She’s also bonkers so it can go both ways.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 16 November 2017 21:55 (eight years ago)
Has Kurt Cobain been mentioned? From what I’ve read he was a stellar dude.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 16 November 2017 22:03 (eight years ago)
surely giving us Courtney Love's career is some kind of crime
― Οὖτις, Thursday, 16 November 2017 22:05 (eight years ago)
Grunge inherited a lot of cock rock imbeciles and Kurt was never happy about it. There’s also anecdotes like this:

Makes it look like he was a class act.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 16 November 2017 22:09 (eight years ago)
Björk I totally believe. Cobain is another story all-together iirc.

AURORA seems like a kind soul (though her fans are a little over-the-top with their praise. I'm pretty sure she isn't an angel or an astral being or "too pure for this world")

I'd do anything for Coombes, but I won't do that.

is Devendra as much of a sleaze as I suspect he is?his background as a pick-up artist doesn't really count in his favor, but Joanna Newsom seems to be cool with him so idk

that really sucks for that guy, for sure, but i feel like i'd need to hear both sides of that story. i mean there could be any number of reasons why she decided not to go through with that project (from his telling i can't tell whether she cancelled at the last minute or literally stood him up without offering an explanation).

yeah that story up above isn't too bad, she did record an album with him anyways and plans fell through for further recording in 2003. Quasi released "Hot Shit!" that year and Slater-Kinney was touring with Pearl Jam. imo she kinda did have better things to do.

Cosign Bjork.
Mastodon mostly come across as lovable dorks in interviews.

I think Bjork started being more private after a fan sent him a tape of him commiting suicide.
