kephm, Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:14 (twenty-two years ago)

both of you dorxxx need to read upthread ca. October 6th.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

um, i read the post. it did not mention the birthdates of anyone.

kephm, Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

felcher = "destroy the evidence"

...which according to the lead post from a year ago (and upthread posting of the lyrics around March 24th), is one of mine too!

yes, kephm it's 100% true.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

it was a "haha, that is odd" not a "haha gygax lost the girl" haha
when i go to live shows these days i feel painfully alone.

kephm, Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:34 (twenty-two years ago)

it's actually a good thing, kephm: nothing lost, much gained.

and yes, you should get to the show early!

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I just saw him play with the Rapture at the Black Cat a couple nights ago. Excellent show. He definitely looked painfully alone though.

My favorite Casiotone song right now would have to be "Calloused Fingers..." Twinkle Echo is a big improvement and one of my favorites of the year as well.

lou (lou), Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

how about a CD80 'portable'?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 4 December 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 4 December 2003 23:18 (twenty-two years ago)

rumor has it... (again this is just conjecture) that they will have their hands on him again.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 4 December 2003 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

for the next week or so, when not playing east coast shows with the rapture, owen can be found at my house. last night we watched the simple life and the o.c., then ate too much greasy chinese food. we also went through a pack of cigarettes and argued about who smoked more. the end.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 5 December 2003 00:37 (twenty-two years ago)

That's funny, because Brian Eno is sleeping on our couch at the moment. He rents a lot of Jaques Tati movies and holds up cards with pictures of food on them when he wants a bite to eat.

fiddo centington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 December 2003 01:13 (twenty-two years ago)

A couple nights ago I woke up with my arms around my plush domokun. I had thai take-out box on the floor next to me. The stereo was playing "by your side".

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 5 December 2003 01:30 (twenty-two years ago)

wait a sec, gygax called ME a dork? the ironing is delicious.

kephm, Friday, 5 December 2003 01:31 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

They look like Britishers. Except for Aphex Twin in the middle there.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

the token hippy. he's their supplier.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:29 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Aphex Twin?

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

haha or squarepusher.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

okay, that's kinda an inside joke, i used to think that squarepusher was an alias for afx based on this picture hiromix took of the 2 of them

http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:cTpAlsoW_LsJ:www.squarepusher.com/imgs/pics/sqp_aphex1.jpg

in which they look very very similar.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I would actually really like to go to this, but I have a class until 9:30-10:00 in berkeley. Hmmmm...more likely I will see you at another engagement.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I imagine the lovely evenings they have together.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 6 May 2004 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

The Shimmer Kids?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 6 May 2004 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

didnt they change their name? what is it now? yo shakey!

jack cole (jackcole), Thursday, 6 May 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

They are known as The Society Of Rockets (also the title of an old Shimmer Kids song) which I'd imagine is an homage to local street philosopher Frank Chiu:

[note: the former galia club is now known as "12 Galaxies", Shakey Mo you should play there]

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 6 May 2004 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I have to wonder about Mr. SemiCombover there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 6 May 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)
