finally have a passable ballot in the works although boy does it look completely insane if you look at it as an actual list of ranked songs, as opposed to just, doctor casino's fantasy classic rock station playlist.

VOTED. Split ballot is cool - has that been done before? I like being able to loosely rank the stuff I really knew (although again, beyond a certain point ranking just feels absurd) - and then give a bunch of shout-out points to things I really only heard because of the Spotify playlist but which I thought were cool. I'll get to mine once I've ranked my albums. Its not an easy thing to do. Id advise everyone to start soon so they dont leave it too late.

I had problems too with the formatting. It took so much longer to do the voting because of it. Voted anyway.

I'll have to take a look -- hard to read the results document kinda.

But we need MOAR!!!! Come on, 20 trax people -- out of hundreds that are nominated. This is easy!

In fact the difficult part for me is getting it down to 100 and ranking them. That's the tough thing for someone who <3 70s rawk. If you are more indifferent this should be a cakewalk.

BTW this is also the thread for CAMPAIGNING!! So if you have a track you love and you want to see it place high come on and talk about it! Evidence has shown that persuasion is very effective in these polls.

It's a bummer that Mayo Thompson's Corky's Debt To His Father didn't get nommed. It might not be loud but it's certainly weird and great...but the song "Worried, Worried" made it to the trax poll and it's just as fantastic.

Funny to see that ray russell track on here. Not because it doesn't rock - it's some of the most thunderous free improv I've heard - but because its parent album, live at the ICA, wasn't nominated in the other poll. I'd definitely have voted for that, it's great. He had an odd career - he produced bill fay's second album and wrote the theme to a touch of frost!
