It's... good. But it feels a little one dimensional after the Hologram Panda album (which is GREAT). As if he's going through the motions.

Yup, I'm psyched, but expecting to be let down. It's also the Amsterdam show, they tend to be "special" performances no matter who's playing.

Ok, at the show. Definitely not sold out. Opening act, Dutch hip-hop. Have a feeling most of the people are here for these guys.

Apparently they are the Hydro Boys. People are into them here. The main takeaway is that Dutch rap SHITS ALL OVER Australian rap FROM A GREAT FUCKING HEIGHT.

So it's all done in 35 minutes. Old school part of me can't get over the fact that Riff Raff's vocals continually keep going even after he stops rapping, but he's clearly got persona and HITS. People know the words, even when his performance bottoms out (we're deep in the internet era). There are moments when he leans in, like during Got Them Mad, and the idea of Riff Raff being a just a weird joke fades away and something clicks, but that's ultimately exceptional. Finished with Cuz My Gear, the reaction is just more evidence that Chicago and Chief Keef tracks still noticeably dominate the club, except that Riff Raff bizarrely wanders off stage while the instrumental keeps playing. People seem confused, and then after a couple of minutes the MC gets back on the mic, and announces the show's over...
