thats what I like about it

wasn't really into that Manola EP thing

jimitheexploder, Sunday, 1 July 2012 09:59 (thirteen years ago)

from last year but this track is massive. haunting me in the good way.

hardhouse banter (tpp), Sunday, 1 July 2012 22:36 (thirteen years ago)

so what didn't you like about the manolo ep? "why you love me" is actually a bit of an outlier, most of the earlier stuff is less samples, more synths and 909, less house and more techno, less swing. more UR than moodymann. authentic shitty dry sound of crap pressings.

i would say my favorite thing so far w them is "quarto" from the blawan + cops thing, there are def marieu and lucretio solo tracks that compare favorably both on their individual labels and restoration but they aren't as heavy or swung as the new ones.

the late great, Sunday, 1 July 2012 23:03 (thirteen years ago)

finally released it seems

the late great, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 07:25 (thirteen years ago)

anyone been following the magic mountain high stuff (move d and juju and/or jordash)

this set is fucking amazing: http://soundcloud.com/move-d/mmh-pudel-openair-2012-06-17

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 10:14 (thirteen years ago)

yeah I like MMH - saw them at corscica last year, was really great - not usually the biggest fan of 'live house music' but had a really organic feel...had already downloaded the set linked but not played yet

coal, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 12:35 (thirteen years ago)

actually they just uploaded another one about 5 mins ago, from vienna, not played this yet either

coal, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 12:41 (thirteen years ago)

how did you download it? no link as far as i can see.

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:06 (thirteen years ago)

there's a download button on the top left of the player thing beside share and favourites

Number None, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:11 (thirteen years ago)

oh i see you were talking about the set you posted. There's programs for that i guess

Number None, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:12 (thirteen years ago)

haha i wasn't all "how do i shot soundcloud", not quite that out of touch!

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:13 (thirteen years ago)

hey, it took me ages to find the volume thing on there

Number None, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 13:16 (thirteen years ago)

i still use tracer's method -

view source, a do a find for

streamUrl":"http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/

then copy and paste everything inside the double quotes starting with http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/

in this case that's http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/iMHd65pdtNPy?stream_token=ktNzd

i know this prob should be fave mixes... but since it's been mentioned here, this new move d set is great too: http://soundcloud.com/move-d/move-d-robert-johnson-2012-06

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 4 July 2012 15:13 (thirteen years ago)

missed this steven tang record from earlier this year -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rhg-ffoRoI

the bit that comes in at 1:30....idk, it sounds like nate dogg!

coal, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 16:51 (thirteen years ago)

move d's sets just never fail

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Thursday, 5 July 2012 08:49 (thirteen years ago)

and he doesn't seem to have any hesitancy with posting many of his sets online

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Thursday, 5 July 2012 08:51 (thirteen years ago)

As it should be, too many DJs are precious and only allow super-slick polished mixes (probably cleaned-up after the fact or with edits) rather than keeping the raw energy of an in-the-moment recording.

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 5 July 2012 16:27 (thirteen years ago)

That new Eprom album Metahuman really is worth a blast. In places it sounds like something a young knobhead would blast out in a stolen Subaru but is also quite playful and experimental. Probably on the wrong thread here.

Damo Suzuki's Parrot, Friday, 6 July 2012 23:55 (thirteen years ago)

Posting this for Coal's benefit - Raiders of the Lost ARP tune that Pedro played last night. Sounded amazing.

This is actually from the latter quarter of 2011 but it's been making the rounds around here lately. Gets love for using 'year of the cat' as sample.

Thee Macallan 18 Year, Wednesday, 11 July 2012 14:01 (thirteen years ago)

The Forward Strategy Group is really good, all clanging, metallic textures against industrial dones - makes me think of Andy Stott's recent material but played at 45 instead of 33.

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 11 July 2012 19:41 (thirteen years ago)

*album I mean

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 11 July 2012 19:51 (thirteen years ago)

not enough love for the lauer album, innit? record might be kinda samey when listened in one sitting, but still most of the tracks are good to great. personal favs : crawlington, delmar 2700, coppers and trainman. like someone said above, the tensnake remixes are also A+.

speaking of tensnake, kinda disappointed with his fact mix. dunno, maybe a little bit too polite or something...

rusty_allen, Thursday, 12 July 2012 00:15 (thirteen years ago)

The Lauer album def sounded pretty same-y, but good. I generally like his stuff, but a full LP of descending basslines with repetitive melodies on top kinda wears thin. Looking forward to the new Tuff City Kids 12 tho: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmpFirzWLVo

one time gaffled 'em up (one time), Thursday, 12 July 2012 02:57 (thirteen years ago)

i guess it's just the usual thing of "collection of good dance tracks (does not equal) good dance album"

one time gaffled 'em up (one time), Thursday, 12 July 2012 02:59 (thirteen years ago)

i would call it the usual thing of "twelve tracks by dance artist (does not equal) dance album"

the late great, Thursday, 12 July 2012 03:18 (thirteen years ago)

these are a couple of my fav new purchases, trying to feel a bit summery in the terrible London weather!

Joss Moog "Toi et Moi" - really love the vocal sample.

i guess it's just the usual thing of "collection of good dance tracks (does not equal) good dance album"

^^ this. sincerely hope that the forthcoming mano le tough album doesn't fall in this category. considering his ep's i believe he might pull something like the talabot album - not in terms of sound, but pacing et. al.

rusty_allen, Thursday, 12 July 2012 22:21 (thirteen years ago)

One of the b-sides on the new Lauer remix 12 is an absolute banger.

Liking the new storm queen, was amazing to see morgan geist on my first ever night in NY until being awake for 24hrs caught up on me

straightola, Thursday, 26 July 2012 11:36 (thirteen years ago)

anyone knows some melodic/warm/atmospheric house/techno that wouldn't sound out of place in a michael mayer set/mix? older tracks are welcome

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Thursday, 26 July 2012 13:38 (thirteen years ago)

[Not totally sure about how mayer-y it is, but Yagya's 'Snowflake' might fit the bill. Also, you might be better asking in the bobbins of the past thread - Techno/House Bobbins of the past.]
