Thread for coordinating the order and timing of ILM ballot polls

I‘m wondering if it would be worth pushing the Kate Bush poll a couple of spots down the list. When the order was done, no-one expected her to have a new album released in November and it would be a shame to miss including it for the sake of a few weeks.

Same thought occurred to me, but I didn't say because I really, really want to vote in a Kate Bush poll.

Hmm.. if more people feel that way, I have no problem with that Billy. It does feel a bit of a shame to finish the poll and a week after she releases a new album. It's not like she releases one every year.

So I can get behind that idea. If others feel the same way do weigh in here please.

I would hold off for six months. (Disclaimer: I don't know enough Kate Bush to vote in this one.) Enough time for initial impressions and enthusiasms to settle down and really judge the new albums against the larger body of work.

I don't count Director's Cut as a new album. Or, not an album with new music.

Well, in a recent interview, Kate counted both: "It's not often I release two albums in the same year"

(last time was the Kick Inside and Lionheart, both 1978)

With most longstanding artists I'd've said a new album isn't really going to affect how a poll will play out, but I've finally 'got' Aerial today and it absolutely kills me. I'll have at least three from it on my ballot, and at least three others it'll be very hard to leave off. Noöne told me it was this good. It sounds amazing too - I was right to have her high on my 'producers' list.

If Kate Bush gets delayed, would a strongo be ready to take us to the bridge?

As much as I looked forward to launching the Kate Bush poll next week (goes without saying), I can get behind the idea of postponing it for a period of time, somewhere between 3 and 6 months (6 seems awfully long to me, but that will be because of my brimming enthusiasm for this poll), to make it possible for all Kate Bush fans and aficionados to take the new album into account. So if others agree too, that is the way to go.

ayo when should i start the noms thread for jb poll in that case? i'm on it, if things get bumped up.

Pulp voting is in its last 2-3 days, so if LBI pushes Kate Bush back, I'd say go right ahead -- a little overlap is no prob.

Well, it makes sense to hold off on KB, and there wasn't really any pushback against the idea in this thread.
