This is the thread where we anticipate and then flip out over how great M.I.A.'s 'Arular' is

This is like a "newbie's catch-up guide" innit?

Mark G, Friday, 7 September 2007 07:46 (eighteen years ago)

I forgot about The Crests Of The Scottish League Football Clubs, Posted In Alphabetical Order (By Name Of Club)

I had that bookmarked on my old PC. Someone should go fix all the broken images.

Matos' stepdad remains my favourite.
Oink invites is great to.
Flush this question out was a nice distraction.

My current favourite on ILE new answers is kev_lol's fighter planes one - it's bringing out the kid in me, making me want to buy Commando comics and build Airfix models.

onimo, Friday, 7 September 2007 07:54 (eighteen years ago)

and, if it were up to the ILX electorate to decide between PARTYMAN and ol' Wrink P, I have a feeling PARTYMAN would be the one getting voted off the island

The Missionary Position

Matt DC, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:13 (eighteen years ago)

Other nominations might be:

Two hundred words! Review the top 100 ILXors, two words each!

The Tragedie of Michael Jackson, King of Pop

OMNIPOTENT BABY!

And, of course:

The very last thread on ILX

Matt DC, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:20 (eighteen years ago)

Has there ever been any ILX slash fiction?

Matt DC, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:21 (eighteen years ago)

I'm going to be mildly annoyed when the thread about Gear's roomate inevitably wins this poll - truly it is the Hey Ya of threads.

I think the most popular and fondly remembered threads are generally those revolving around one specific poster in a particular situation in real time. Eg "there's this cute girl in the library opposite me, how do I start talking to her?" "a car alarm keeps on going off outside my house" or "help there's a man in a trucker hat having anal sex with my roomate on my couch".

Matt DC, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:31 (eighteen years ago)

"banning of the avril thread" seconded.

The Manic Street Preachers thread on ILM where ally drops the hammer on c-man

"disturb the pillars of capitalism"

the ILM thread about not very good evening session bands.

"yiff me im furry"

Pashmina, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:38 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, but my thread went from high thrills (I met her by chance and actually went on a date with her) to a total anticlimax (we didn't really click with each other and nothing happened).

(x-post)

Tuomas, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:39 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, sorry, maybe you were talking about the Graham thread?

Tuomas, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:40 (eighteen years ago)

Oh yeah, "oink invites".

Pashmina, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:42 (eighteen years ago)

;-)

Oink Administrator, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:51 (eighteen years ago)

oink invites was going on this list whether it was nominated or not

Just got offed, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:51 (eighteen years ago)

I wish I could find that thread where I'd written about the orgasm competition. My computer at home crashed and I lost my original story :(

C J, Friday, 7 September 2007 09:59 (eighteen years ago)

I missed that one :(

This is the best thread on ILM ever : "Down In The Tube Station At Midnight" by The Jam - What Does It Mean?

Dr.C, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:02 (eighteen years ago)

Hey now come on LJ ya cant cheat and put stuff on no one nominates :P

Trayce, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:06 (eighteen years ago)

I quite enjoyed the impersonations thread from a selfish point of view.

Most fun one this year was CJ's crush thread.

Dr.C, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:07 (eighteen years ago)

the ILM thread about not very good evening session bands.

Seconded. Also the Ethan and Jess (mainly) 'hits of the 90s' one that I can't find. There is a really good before-my-time Manic Street Preachers thread with a golden Calum meltdown and all my other favourites have all been listed already I think

DJ Mencap, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:07 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't read this whole thread .... we've had Gear's couch one, right?

C J, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:09 (eighteen years ago)

Someone please find the ultra old-skool thread about diverting the Thames through Camden please.

Matt DC, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:09 (eighteen years ago)

xxxxpost: Don't worry, I'm not gonna do that, just that Oink Invites is some sort of Internet high-point.

Gear's couch is safely on the list.

Just got offed, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:10 (eighteen years ago)

this thread:
"And" six times in a row

"and" six times in a row.

Grandpont Genie, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:10 (eighteen years ago)

My favourite ILM thread ever:

Ladies and Gentlemen...The 40 Most OMGWTFLOL(ROFFLE) Songs Of The 90s.

Tuomas, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:12 (eighteen years ago)

If Matos stepdad thread doesnt win, I'll off myself.

Trayce, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:12 (eighteen years ago)

Manic Street Preachers : Clasur Neu Methiant

Pashmina, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:15 (eighteen years ago)

Can someone link to Matos' stepdad thread, please?

Just got offed, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:21 (eighteen years ago)

"And" six times in a row

Great thread, particularly this gem from koogs:
still:
Wouldn't the sentence "I want to put a hyphen between the words Fish and And and And and Chips in my Fish-And-Chips sign" have been clearer if quotation marks had been placed before Fish, and between Fish and and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and Chips, as well as after?

onimo, Friday, 7 September 2007 10:21 (eighteen years ago)
