The Tracy Chapman post is incredibly weird, I'm sorry.

It's a huge leap into the imaginary that sidesteps how the racist, sexist, homophobic machinations of the music industry actually work. And I'm sorry if blue-check dullards have trouble following this logic to comment intelligently.

are they phasing out twitter threads? when i see a tweet that's part of a thread, there's no indication it's part of a thread, and half the time when i click on a tweet that clearly is part of the thread it doesn't load the rest of the thread just the one tweet in isolation

Yeah. But also Trump and Vince are basically BFFs and have been for decades; the book said he is one of the few people that Trump clears the room for when they call. Trump grew up watching wresting events in New York promoted by Vince's dad and has remained a fan ever since. I mentioned on a different thread that I saw the author of the book speak, and she hypothesized that Trump facing an "active" (which is to say, hooting and hollering) crowd as a WWF presenter may have been the first time he encountered that sort of audience and leaned in to being a heel himself, in part exploiting the ugliness and offensiveness that has been a pro wrestling trademark since the beginning. And the rest is (sigh) history.
