Basically went like this:

Lost internet as I couldn’t afford it.
Started reading and exercising instead.
Any time I come back it’s the same old political mess, or specific users are just shit disturbers and somehow not banned.
Love the music forums and many posters but it’s a huge relief not feeling the anxiety and stress of this fucked up woeld radiated back at me from other posters.

After 20 years here it was time to kick the biscuit and breathe for once. Peace !

I feel for a lot of people here who are experiencing extreme anxiety due to the climate were in. Hopefully there is peace around the corner or just take some time for yourself to feel less anxious

Did Ross have a different screen name before in 20 years of posting? I feel like I just saw the name pop up in abundance recently and truly cannot keep track of who is oldtime and who is real and who is pretending anymore. There is not a thread I'm aware of to get a straight answer so I figured I would ask here for transparency's sake.

it seems weird to me that anyone would lurk for what amounts to an entire lifetime, then post a ton for 2 years while also making regular claims to leave.
why wouldn't you just silently go back to lurking if you were so comfortable doing that for almost 2 decades?

Not to sound like a pity party but personally I don't think I'm on anyone's radar enough that anyone would notice if I stopped completely.
Therefore imo announcing "leaving" is probably more useful as a way to motivate yourself to officially tear away than it is useful information for others.
