> cartoon robots for children
Pacific Rim was a pg-13 so not really children.
She used her tablet to access Google maps. Big whoop. The "I can't do that on a Mac" thing that they always cram into those adverts is interesting because it's usually just the software that's the difference, not a physical limitation.
Go compare adverts have seemingly stopped using the word fantastic in every sentence, which is something.
The skeletor adverts have got weirder.
― koogs, Monday, 27 November 2017 03:28 (eight years ago)
OK, there's another advert with a clown in it, this time for Specsavers, though it's fairly amusing.

Apple advertisement with bug girl playing with her iPad in the yard, neighbor asks "oh are you on your COMPUTER?" and she says "what's a COMPUTER??" and then looks away, completely uninterested in the answer

This new Lavazza commercial that changes the lyrics to "My Girl" to be entirely about the awesomeness of coffee is actually kind of hilarious. It seems very Euro, too, like it was probably hammered into everyone's skull over there in 2015 and finally they just decided to run it here.
― The Fortnightly Intruder (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Saturday, 2 December 2017 06:57 (eight years ago)
Uh it's not the version that actually tries to be funny that's on youtube.

so sick of the phoney sex voices used on adverts for "luxury" Christmas food
― best display name of 2017 (Noodle Vague), Friday, 8 December 2017 18:34 (eight years ago)
not an ad per se, but the trailer for 'i'm a celebrity...' where dec makes a decision and a woman screams and ant says that that was a good decision is complaint-worthy.
― koogs, Sunday, 10 December 2017 22:28 (eight years ago)
the lavazza ad is terrible but the pimlico plumbers murdering something to the tune of 'merry christmas everyone' is a crime against humanity.
― koogs, Sunday, 10 December 2017 22:29 (eight years ago)
The UK version of the 'V.I.Poo' advert has a caption at the end that reads 'perfect for Secret Santas'. Now a few years ago a colleague got a spray bottle of breath freshener in a Secret Santa, but a bottle of pre-dump toilet spray?!
― Zings Can Only Get Better (snoball), Tuesday, 12 December 2017 20:58 (eight years ago)
that sounds like a terrible Secret Santa gift. who wants to open a gift called "V.I.Poo" in front of their beloved co-workers

Is there any chance advertisers will ever get tired of that 'watching a young couple grow together, have children and then watch as their children have children in turn' or 'mother/daughter (or father/son) through the decades' shite they're so fond of?

Incredibly the latest Nationwide advert with the sisters surpasses all the others so far in eye-gouging ear-stabbing horror
― i know kore-eda (or something), Monday, 8 January 2018 20:54 (eight years ago)
indeed. I thought nothing could be worse than the Sainsburys xmas adverts but they have trumped it
― Algerian Goalkeeper (Odysseus), Monday, 8 January 2018 20:55 (eight years ago)
Nationwide is a menace all the way around. they've got a new one with Tori Kelly doing a "soulful" take on the jingle. who the fuck wants to hear that 84 times during a football game? it was bad enough when it was Brad Paisley.
a good commercial, though, is Chris Paul, James Harden, Trevor Ariza and Oscar from The Office singing Backstreet Boys.
― evol j, Monday, 8 January 2018 20:58 (eight years ago)
Nationwide is really the worst - "our ads are a national treasure" is pretty much the worst possible vantage point to approach a commercial from
I guess Progressive do this too but there's at least some wit and self-deprecation there. Nationwide stumbled into one commercial people sorta liked and now are gonna rehash it for the next 3+ years
