He ate in my parents' restaurant one time. He had a snake with him and scared the crap out of my mom.
― (✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Friday, 12 October 2012 16:43 (thirteen years ago)
alice cooper talking a snake to a restaurant just when he wants to go eat a meal is really reassuring in a "alice cooper is for real" way
― *buffs lens* (schlump), Friday, 12 October 2012 16:48 (thirteen years ago)
i think someone noted before that alice cooper has been photographed with absolutely everyone who was famous in the 70s, an always with a drink of some kind in his hand.
― Perfect Chicken Forever (Merdeyeux), Friday, 12 October 2012 19:51 (thirteen years ago)
The sad thing is that Alice probably doesnt remember the 70s

― los blue jeans, Thursday, 18 October 2012 03:30 (thirteen years ago)
OK, not so unlikely in the grand scheme of things, I figure that's at the Grammys or something like that, but still, yeah, a weird set of people to share a photo.
― Doctor Casino, Thursday, 18 October 2012 03:34 (thirteen years ago)
All that's missing from that photo is Don Was.
― pplains, Thursday, 18 October 2012 03:35 (thirteen years ago)
Also it's funny, like I suspect that if you took all the people who most frequently come up in these photos - which would be, what, Roth, Axl, Hillary Clinton and Gaga - and had a photo of the four of them together, I wouldn't be remotely surprised.
― Doctor Casino, Thursday, 18 October 2012 03:37 (thirteen years ago)

It's from backstage at a Pet Shop boys tour, as seen in the Random Notes section of the May 16th 1991 issue of Rolling Stone.
The show, a sprawling journey with three songs taking place in a simulated dormitory, won the praise of Rose. In turn, the Boys sang the praises of the author of "Mr. Brownstone.""Axl thought the show was gorgeous," says singer NEIL TENNANT. "He was extremely charming and knew our music quite well. I think GUNS N' ROSES are very good songwriters"
there's also some pictures of Clapton & Sambora, Springsteen & Smithereens, Tom Jones & Van the Man, and Elton John (in drag) & Rod Stewart but all those pairings are kinda likely
― los blue jeans, Thursday, 18 October 2012 03:46 (thirteen years ago)
there's a bit more on Axl's attendance in Pet Shop Boys Versus America iirc

In Dig! there's a scene where he's just there at some Dandy Warhols house party playing the bongos. NBD.

My thoughts as well. I came out the other side liking Dandy Warhols perhaps a little more than I did going in and then absolutely HATING Brian Jonestown Massacre.

My HDS encounter happened at the 2004 ACL fest. Billy Joe Shaver was performing on the final day and halfway into his set Stanton appears out of nowhere in a three-piece suit with a guitar strapped on. He uses Shaver's mic to give a benediction of sorts* before starting in on one of Shaver's songs in a duet.
*"This guy's the real deal, and it's been an honor working with him..." (they'd just shot The Wendell Baker Story together).
