Haha, I remember back in the nineties there was an ad on the Finnish TV about a new sour cream dip sauce. The ad went something like, hey youngsters, now you don't have go through the trouble of mixing dip sauce powder with sour cream, because we've already mixed them for you! You'd think even the laziest of teenagers has the energy to perform the enormous task of mixing the powder with the sour cream. Also, the sauce was called www.dipsauce.com or something, and they boasted that it was the first food product to have an Internet address name! I don't think it was a success.

not sure if this is actually a thread on ilx but i reckon it must (and if not, i'll start it). got quite into cooking lately but i'm finding myself cooking the same things over and over - esp side dishes. wondering what the *main* thread is for cooking advice, like asking "hey what side dishes go best with salmon fish cakes and sour cream" and "these are the vegetables i have in: courgette, vine toms, peppers, mushrooms, red onion. what's an exciting thing to do to them that isn't just roasting them in the oven with rosemary and oil?" that kind of thing. thanks ilx kin!
