What Ricky said, plus MIA and Roots Manuva are playing Brixton Academy on March 4 as well so it could well be the best night ever.

villalobos at fabric this saturday will be good (well, the last couple of hours of his set were amazing last time, anyway) but i'm giving it a miss as there's no-one else playing that i'm keen to see.

I can't do the 4th, although MIA + Manuva + whoever they wheel out for Run The Road (almost certainly Kano I'd imagine) would be a pretty awesome run.

I am too much of a wuss to cope with proper clubbing on a school night, sadly, so this Thursday is out for me.

I still haven't been able to get into Get Physical properly bar the odd tune or two, but hopefully a night actually dancing to the stuff will sort that out.

Argh Toby, are you aware how much poorer and more exhausted this thread is going to make me in the coming months?

I have this awful problem in that I love to dance, but can't really dance to Dance Music.

the key is in weird railyard no-man's-land around the station, the kind of area in which you're supposed to walk in groups.

I will be dancing at the Shoegazing Club on the 24th February (at Legion on Old Street) but I suspect everyone else will be dancing at Freaky Trigger.

i'm up for dancing pretty much all the time. although i haven't been 'proper' dancing to music without words for at least a year, so don't know if i'd be into that these days.

People may scoff, but Popstarz is totally where you should go. The bottom floor is sticky, but it plays all the above. And then you can escape to Pop heaven on the top floor, make out with someone on the balcony and then dance to schmindie on the middle floor when you're so drunk you don't care that they're playing Razorlight.

I have been warned off Popstarz as a Place Of Indie, though if there are non-indie nights then it will be promising...

And that little room off to the side where I saw all those big blokes grinding together to Beenie Man. That was weird.

There's another multi venue 'thing' going on Easter weekend at various places around town (Koko, Old Blue (Vice Pub), Lock Tavern) with Hot Chip, Optimo, Park Attack, Whitey, Richard X, Paul Epworth (Phones), Druzzis Baltimore Rave Club, Our Disco, Eat Your Own Ears, Detournement & The Boutique. For those heading to Our Disco friday, it'd be a very very very good idea to be queueing by 11pm. Queue's for Optimo can be a wee bit hectic there, even though the doors won't open till 11ish, it'll sell out easy with the crowd who're there then.

In Dublin there are never nights with more than one act on. But then, tonight that act is Black Strobe, at our club, so not so bad.

Well, let me assure this isn't the case! But yesterday I got the feeling that Finnish girl who sat next to me in the class (and thus prevented me and the Icelandic girl winding up near each other) and began chatting up with me might harbour some sort of interest in me, which makes the situation even more complicated.

if she's checking you out while in class, chances are she thinks you're cute as well, but is also being shy.

I thought of this at first, but my low self-esteem said to me, "She's super-pretty while you're not exactly cute yourself, she couldn't possibly be interested in you.". Of course, the Icelandic girl might think exactly the same. She certainly isn't pretty in the conventional way, nor even in the Björkish elfin-kinda-way, I think what drew my attention to her is that her appearance escapes all the categories I can think of.

Kittin is the best human being ever, yes; I really enjoyed Jamie (he is v cute - I forgive one trick ponies if they look like him, though he should have sung more). I looked in on Virus Syndicate for a bit, I'd been really looking forward to them but a) there were only about ten people in Room 2 and the atmosphere was dead, b) aforementioned drama aargh. François K was amazing.

I think there's a 20:20 Vision night at The Key tomorrow as well, can't remember off the top of my head though.

DJ Hell is playing the next Issst at The Key as well, not too sure when it is other than next month yet though. I've not caught him DJing before, so I'm kind of interested I guess.

Alex, I stayed in the smae place we were at for half an hour, so there's no excuse, you schoolboy. I did find out that "Peaches" carries a fan and is gay, and wa spossibly one of the few people I wasn't wishing an acid bath on as the night carried on.

june 11th: get physical @ the end vs. border community/crosstown rebels warehouse party 'in east london.' hmmm.

we were meant to have Headman here in Dublin tonight but it's not looking good, though there is a wealth of stuff on all weekend. sadly no warehouse parties of labels I like but you can't have everything.

I've never been and would be happiest making this my premiere abecause I doubt it gets much better.

none of us stayed til the end of smagghe, remember! I enjoyed it but not so much that I'd rave about it for weeks afterwards. isolée was great though.

nite versions = rmx album yes, the nite version of 'e talking' is the one which always gets played out.

Fabric was more rammed than I have ever ever seen it before and half the people downstairs seemed to be wide-eyed indie kids there for the first time and petrified of all the people asking them for pills. I can't imagine how little room there would have been in the main room, even the balcony was fairly packed!

I want to know who was playing in room 2 (? - the one where Vitalic wasn't) last, we went there after 2manydjs got too indie and it was insanely banging and fucked with my head a bit.

I want to come for definite, and can get the time off, and I'm mostly feeling better, but not 100 percent and was kind of thinking that it might be wise to wait until I am really feeling absolutely better before going out for a long night like it will be.

But I might change my mind, and I could be feeling better by next Friday and then regret my initial decision!

yeah, it did stick an extra 4 quid or so on, which was pretty annoying. not sure if you get to queue-jump, but the ticket claims guaranteed entry if you turn up by one, and i like the idea of being able to show up at half 12 rather than queue at 11, esp as the late end means i'd rather not start until 1, anyway. also it was a way of making myself go, rather than wimp out at the last minute.
