very easy thing to do. well, you have to have a margin account.

But somehow you must have missed the fact that it is possible to 'provide for one's family' in many ways other than shorting the equities market. Even though you must be thrilled with your gains atm, trading on margin is a risky business that shouldn't be accepted by anyone who isn't willing to lose money in a big way.
