White Winter Hymnal's actually a lot better than I remember it to be. Pretty harmonies, a simple melody, excellent production.. suddenly I feel bad for making all those flannel/beard jokes. Meanwhile "one day like this" really sucks

Oh, I kinda like One Day Like This :( It's not the ninth best song of any year, of course, probably shouldn't be in the top thirty, but I like the sentiment. And the shamelessness. It's like a good Coldplay-song, which I always love, and if Coldplay ever made some I would like them as well.

My top 3 of Coldplay songs is something like One Day Like This, Everybody Changes and Starlight. And I don't like either band that much.

that's fair! I think I was just surprised that it placed so high cause i'm not really a "these lists are wrong, overthrow the canon" kind of person.

I just can't believe The Rip is 9 years old

There's a single clipped hi-hat towards the end of The Rip that always makes me really want a house beat to kick in over the outro.

I've changed my mind after listening to One Day Like This again. It's absolutely great and deserved more than one vote. The clash between the rhythm and the floating strings, Coldplay could never do something like that, they've never been able to handle two ideas at once.
