Funny to see that ray russell track on here. Not because it doesn't rock - it's some of the most thunderous free improv I've heard - but because its parent album, live at the ICA, wasn't nominated in the other poll. I'd definitely have voted for that, it's great. He had an odd career - he produced bill fay's second album and wrote the theme to a touch of frost!

Viceroy I think the 80s polls started at 300 and I know balls planned it to be at least that, what size countdown are you going to do? Its 100% your call. And you will be able to start the rollout as soon as seandalai sends the results.

I'm going to do a top 300 as is the decided standard for these big decade polls that are overseen by AG. It will last a week. After the tracks rollout finishes its onto albums!

hurrah! but lets hope there's enough votes to do it! (with ballots of 100 it shouldnt be a problem as 80s poll was a top 250 and max ballots were 50 and I doubt the number of them are any different to what you will get for this poll)

And balls idea was a huge rollout like the 80spoll anyway.

Yeah if the results peter out to one vote each and stuff that's where I'll do the cut off, probably 3 votes each is my cutoff. We'll see how far we can go!

PS: I finally turned my trax ballot in after much agonizing. If I can do it, anyone can!!!

I say this for every poll, but any chance of slowing down the rollout? I know that can make it seem like a chore but it is a lot more fun to have a little time to banter back and forth about individual tracks, and I tend to just give up if I get home at the end of the day and twenty songs have been posted and anything I might say already seems behind the times of the thread. But that may just be me!

but there really is nothing to stop people commenting later on when they're ready to. A lot of people do a kind of catching up recap set of posts that are good fun to read.

I'm having problems C&Ping from this spreadsheet. Comes out as a formatted table, and if I de-format it then it looks weird. Can someone message me the list in a suitable format?

Afraid not. The only way it works is if you copy and paste 1 entry at a time to the voting form (the way balls set it up for I imagine).

Yeah copy-paste was ridiculous. I ended up writing them out by hand, which really helped to whittle down the ballot, like a track had to be worth my time to type in order to be considered.

i copied and pasted into a separate google spreadsheet no problem. weird.

? I had no trouble c&ping into Word.

For help... if you used excel like I do, I copy the list and then paste it into something like notepad, then c&p that to the ballot entry page window thing. Hope that helps you get rid of cell-formating and stuff.

remembering of course that the top is #1 and the on the list is #2 and so on.

Anyway, less than 3 hours away till the end of voting! If a lot of Americans need to vote later this evening I'll think about extending it to Midnight Pacific Time but that's a very iffy if.

You have until basically seandalai says voting is closed but he gotta do tabulating tonight. I know he said he has to clean up mistakes on ballots from people (people numbering stuff and not copy and pasting etc, check for duplicates ) and he said that would take a few hours but we cant expect him to stay up late. I told everybody not to wait til last minute!

i found the trax ballot easy to do tbh. You must've nominated loads!

Given that I kept changing my albums ballot daily the past month, I was worried that I wouldn't have time for the trax. But I just looked at the spreadsheet and went with my gut, picking favorites on the fly and was done in 20 min. I didn't count the entries 'til after I submitted, it was not quite 100 but close enough.
