why is that thread constantly in the most read threads list?

I ♠ my display name (sarahel), Sunday, 27 September 2009 03:10 (fourteen years ago) link

I don't know? It's got a woman in the title, but it's two years old and the reads are on-site reads. It doesn't make sense. The simpsons porn one only partly makes sense, but a lot of those reads are site reads too. Wait, I get that one, because it persists because of the most read threads page working in concert with google hits. But the other one with the girl I just don't get, unless it's a lesser version of the same phenomenon.

i just wonder if it's some quirk in the system. it's always there.

Fact: www.dhmo.org is a website dedicated to that stupid joke your chemistry teacher makes in high school about dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) being the most abundant, potentially dangerous chemical in the world.

Fact: according to double top-secret web analytics I saw for epa.g0v today, the number two referrer to EPA's website in the past 3 months was www.dhmo.org, and it's been in the top 5 for the past year.

xp - like the subject of a thread i had second thoughts about posting on that was a serious clusterfuck.

sarahel, Monday, 9 November 2009 20:46 (fourteen years ago) link

I always have to stop myself going onto thread about bands I don't like to slag them off, as that wouldn't be doing anyone any good.

I am flesh and blood. You are software and circuitry. (chap), Monday, 9 November 2009 21:58 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah - i hear you on that one.

I always like going on the Pitchfork thread because it makes other people who allegedly don't read it cry.

sarahel, Monday, 9 November 2009 22:04 (fourteen years ago) link

TGAAPQ (Mr. Que), Monday, 9 November 2009 22:04 (fourteen years ago) link

Provates--their new album is great, much improved over that EP last year

TGAAPQ (Mr. Que), Monday, 9 November 2009 22:05 (fourteen years ago) link

kinda feel like derailing LJ's epic poll thread and protest vehemently that he should have included track 6 from the last Provates album.

Gravel Puzzleworth, Wednesday, 2 December 2009 22:22 (fourteen years ago) link

Agree with, like, the sentiment of the words? Or the entire musical aesthetic? Maybe I shouldn't ask. Maybe this should be a safe place.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 2 December 2009 22:23 (fourteen years ago) link

I wasn't gonna ask what you can't, but this is a haven, so I didn't.

we have a couple of his albums at work - he's a good guy, a little grumpy. I haven't actually listened to his albums, but I've seen him live. This is the case with a lot of music for me, actually.

a. cole, u thic (acoleuthic), Thursday, 3 December 2009 00:49 (fourteen years ago) link

my ambitions are quite low - i'd feel thoroughly satisfied being mod of a sub-board only me and two other people post to. I just want to make up fake user names.

sarahel, Thursday, 3 December 2009 02:13 (fourteen years ago) link

You can register fake gmail addys and make fake user accounts based on them. The mods will know, though, based on your IP.

I wear a 34 waist. There was a time when I wore a 36 but then I got diabetes and lost like 25 pounds in a few weeks and have never gone back up.

Not a recommended weight loss regimen.

Love the commercials where they pointedly refer to weight loss but then have to reiterate THIS IS FOR DIABETES, REPEAT THIS IS A DIABETES DRUG HONEST TO GOD

Was Alfred-sized (29) until approximately the pandemic, am now "not technically obese" (34-ish, 5'9")
& I'm fine with that I just don't wanna get diabetes.
When I see photos of myself from 5 years ago I look way too skinny, like to a degree that it's super weird, even though I somehow felt a little pudgy then.
Guess the happy medium would be 32 waist
