Haha I'm watching them wrap up their opening set now for School of Seven Bells and the XX came to mind as well, in terms of genre recombination. Quite good show, very personable folks from what I can tell!

Yeah, lately I've really been getting into "Fall in Love" – the "Yes, I'm Ready" sample is brilliant

"Black Out Days" still my favorite by a fair margin, but definitely a solid album.

Yeah, I'm really loving this record. Didn't have much high hopes for the album based on the Flaming Lips and Big Boi collabs I'd heard (hadn't heard the first record), but this is just wonderful.

It didn't take long for my local alt-rock station to drop it off their playlist but Fall in Love is song of the year for me...

still can't make it loud enough, i swoon every time tho

somehow avoided hearing this until the past week when my band's sometimes vocalist recommended them (she's a big kate bush and 80's pop fan); not exactly what I was expecting but Voices is a really awesome record.

I listened to these loads a couple of years ago and forgot about them! Thanks for the reminder

this new album is fine, lots of griping about selling out but they do bombastic over the top pop pretty well.

good god, I knew they went with a full studio collaboration environment major label style but the credits on some of these songs really get into the "room of heavyweight songwriters/producers" territory

in retrospect I don't think that album holds up nearly as well as the earlier ones. also I liked her fake english accent on Voices and now she seems to have shed that.

anyway I gather a new one is coming as they have a tour this summer
