I find most of the stuff about computer games good to be honest, didn't really see any of the last season. Quite like the thing about the rubbish Cthulhu point and click mobile game form the new stuff. Team! is the all time classic material.

Man, I liked series 3 of CG (even The Black Episode) and series 3 of VG. The Simpsons' review ("have an acceptable Christmas") and all the "It's an FPS" stuff, plus there was a good Peter "One Dart" Manley gag in it as well. I think the comedy elements are a very specific type, nothing really "works" on first review, stuff only really kicks in on a third or fourth run through (which is why my favourite lines from all of CG, "Chooban!" and "Fuck your leg, you were never good" and "Fucking shut up Batman" and "Because... I'm a racist, probably" only got a smirk first time round). It's a very paced style of comedy, anyone who's seen Rab Florence's sitcom work will probably see the direct line run through.

Although, yeah, Legend and Hitler were never funny.

The directors' commentaries they're doing for old episode are v.similar to the humour I was talking about, although maybe people are more used to that pace of comedy in a commentary?

Plus MC Nomad used as the theme music to the "Checking the Forums" skit.

But the fact that he had a The Wire desktop picture was much funnier than dragging that sketch out so ridiculously long...

aye that sketch wasn't the best. It's hit and miss, but eough hit for me to keep watching.

Couldn't bring myself to sit all the way through "Checking the Forums", but I enjoyed the LBP and Lego Batman reviews.

Damn, forgot we actually had a thread for this

Tougher for me these days to watch the show - maybe I'm more lacking in patience, and used to the more standard YT review pace of 12 minutes or less - but still found some stuff to like in here. (And.... the Twitch streaming format isn't necessarily my cup of tea for this, either)
To me the good stuff is Rab's FFVII Remake review which starts around 28:40 - love to see the guy's passion and doing something a bit original here, incorporating his current pandemic life and family into the review. (Note: earlier in the show, he mentioned he had to cancel his own wedding which was going to happen in eight weeks.)

Great review, convinced me to definitely pick this up sometime. Beginning and end of it have that weird... "is this a joke?" kinda thing going on which is classic CV

Still so long and indulgent as is their trademark, but I love the review of Immortality, again Rab really selling the hell out of a game with absolute passion. Starts at 8:50
