Wow, so a whole bunch of stuff that most of us thought would be in the top ten finished outside it, so what's left? I'll guess:

Although I have very little confidence in these guesses -- I didn't expect a lot of those tracks to place this high. Swapping most of #11-20 with 1-10 is closer to what I was thinking.

I think Regulate and Windowlicker will chart very highly - they're still well-loved but not anywhere near as overplayed as yer Born Slippys or Smells Like Teen Spirits.

i know - wishful thinking.
i just keep thinking of that part where the trumpets come crashing in with the drums and growling guitars and think "how could it NOT make the list???"

but then i could kinda think that about everything in my list (the part where delacy sings her first lines over the church organ/bass, the part where the first avh bline kicks in after the "sspppppiiinnnnnnnn spppppiiinnnnnnnn suuuugggggggggg-aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" timestretch thingy and all hell breaks loose, etc)

but most of all i just feel sad that NO ONE else voted for "Autobiography". you should all download it when i get the folder put together and shared. i guarantee you'll either love it or you hate music

I listened to 'Everlong' because it was on my Michel Gondry DVD. It was one of those records that seemed to be made by people without soul, for ants. Why are people so scared of living? Stick on 'Sleep The Clock Around'. Open the windows. The future is bright.

I've always disliked Beck apart from a brief period when Loser still had some novelty value. The full length version of Lazarus is a grebt pop thing but there was no way it was going to go top ten.

Unlike a lot of the songs in this poll, Loser sounds really limp ten years on.

The Foo Fighters placing above Nirvana would be some kind of victory against rockism, I feel (even if Everlong is the only song of there's a I really love).

I've no idea what's on the nominations list or what is going to make the Top 10. There isn't the unexploded bomb of another Belle and Sebastian song is there?

I might be wrong about the two D.I. songs, MiR, but if history has taught me one thing, it's to never underestimate the vote of the corny indie fuxx.

Perhaps not. Judy and the Dream of Horses doesn't seem to have been nominated, so that pretty much counts out my prediction.

there are, aren't there? Their reaction when I say something like "Diamond Princess is a better album than Illmatic" is akin to the reaction of cornie indie fuxx when I say something like "Emma Bunton is better than Wilco". And they really hate Princess Superstar!
