The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 8 May 2006 08:21 (seventeen years ago) link

yo dudes! i am planning to go to fabric tonight if anyone would like to come along. i have an extra list spot so someone could come for free. i get in to london at around 8 PM and i am here til monday morning!

geeta (Tobias Rapp), Saturday, 13 May 2006 13:17 (seventeen years ago) link

would be great to see you but don't think i can handle more clubbing tonight. if you're gonna be at mark's beforehand i'm only 5 mins up the road so mail or call then! otherwise meeting up tomorrow somewhere would be cool.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Saturday, 13 May 2006 14:18 (seventeen years ago) link

after Sugar I really want more dancing: let's all go to fabric!

permanent revolution (cis), Saturday, 13 May 2006 14:42 (seventeen years ago) link

:-(

hopeful bump?

permanent revolution (cis), Saturday, 13 May 2006 19:17 (seventeen years ago) link

I will be at Fabric. Going to Padded Cell first. If I see people who I think might be ILM'ers I'll say hello.

rchinn (rchinn), Saturday, 13 May 2006 21:59 (seventeen years ago) link

mmmm, holden & mfa pretty sweet at 54 commercial street, shame it was silly packed due to encompass shenanigans along with pheek at runsounds. Bah!

MattR (MattR), Sunday, 14 May 2006 02:34 (seventeen years ago) link

was at 54 commerical for a bit on friday night to see Ame, who was ok, after seeing Fugiji & Miyagi at 93ft east, which was also pretty good (sounds just like their 10 inches). it was pretty full then too, the dancefloor was humid, the crowd was ok if a little messy, but nowhere near the standards of the sunday morning zombie parties.

tonight padded cell were alright. didnt sound too live. one guy was working a sequencer which looked like ableton while richard stern operated a keyboard. their tunes are excellent, but herbal really has no vibe, so the crowd was a bit flat.

fabric wasnt as full as normal. when i got down optimo had room two working well, mixing on of the new minus tracks with la la land, and dropping the carl craig mix of revelee which sounds on that system. only other act i really heard was patrick chadronnet, his main tune rocked, and the others also.

rchinn (rchinn), Sunday, 14 May 2006 03:33 (seventeen years ago) link

perhaps, some of you, would like to go out, with me, somewhere, the first weekend of june?

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 14 May 2006 21:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Anyone up for Sonic Cathedrals? Tomorrow? Same shoe-time, same shoe-place?

The Minimal Criminal (kate), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 11:30 (seventeen years ago) link

oh, maybe, i shouldnt though. depends if im doing my exam friday

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 12:09 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh, you know you want to!

The Minimal Criminal (kate), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 12:13 (seventeen years ago) link

tomorrow i'm headed the old blue last, which is unfortunate, but DIPLO, FREE Y'ALL!

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 13:01 (seventeen years ago) link

I might... *might* just be tempted by Diplo now. I dunno.

I went past the Old Blue Last a few weeks ago, it didn't look that bad.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 16:01 (seventeen years ago) link

i have the worst sore throat ever. sterpsils aren't helping. i'm exhausted. i hate the old blue last.

...i think i will still go tonight.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 18 May 2006 08:19 (seventeen years ago) link

i would like to go to sonic cathedral thing. i'd also like to go to old blue last. i'd like to do lots of things

i will, however, be studying for tomorrows exam

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 18 May 2006 10:28 (seventeen years ago) link

I got a bit drunk last night in celebration of Arsenal losing, and will be out tomorrow night, so I think I'll have a night in and watch Big Brother instead.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 May 2006 10:38 (seventeen years ago) link

right, despite saying all week that i was far far too exhausted to do anything this weekend, it appears...that i am in fact going to go to ellen allien at the end tonight. i'm not sure how this happened. but er, yeah, join me and anna-marie and kt!

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 20 May 2006 12:16 (seventeen years ago) link

Maybe I will!

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 20 May 2006 15:11 (seventeen years ago) link

how was the alien? i had the just about the quietest weekend ever.

rchinn (rchinn), Sunday, 21 May 2006 11:48 (seventeen years ago) link

She was great! All very Berlin and minimal but lushly melodic in places as well. Also I want to marry her, especially after seeing her standing there texting people in the DJ booth.

Lindstrom & Prinz Thomas surprised me as well. Much chunkier sound than I was expecting and it left me going "why didn't the album sound like that?" Unfortunately they ended an hour earlier than they were scheduled to, we were in the other room at the time and didn't get to see whether they played I Feel Space. Gah.

Weirdest moment of the night = Erol playing a set of big chunky rocky electro (Justice and Vitalic and lots of stuff that sounded like them) only to drop Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name in the middle of it. The place went fucking mental.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 21 May 2006 13:54 (seventeen years ago) link

SPOTTING - TRAINS! 'way out' is so massive.

i was totally feeling lindstrom - all those dirty funk bass grooves topped off by music box stylings at the exact mid-point of tweeness and ket-blankness. unfortunately anna-marie was hating it, but the other room was ace anyway (APART FROM ratm, have you NO SHAME!).

ellen allien was ridiculously beautiful - i couldn't keep my eyes off her! her white halter-neck top was gorgeous, and her hair looked fab too. she looked like she was having a lot of fun, esp when she started to sing along to her own vocals.

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 21 May 2006 15:32 (seventeen years ago) link

has anyone been to the t bar lately? eg i see villalobos is at fabric next saturday, which i won't be able to make, but will he be at the t bar on sunday afternoon?

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 21 May 2006 16:36 (seventeen years ago) link

yes. i go to t-bar regularly. sunday the day after a villalobos session will be funny. it will be full of twitch ket-afterparters from about 2pm - 7pm and then start to peter out. ricard will look something like this...

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a7/LittleMissM/2006_0305villalobos0068.jpg

rchinn (rchinn), Monday, 22 May 2006 09:30 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, i'm quite tempted by the t-bar on sunday (midday til midnight apparently), but i'm already going to john cage stuff in the afternoon and lightning bolt in the evening, so not sure it'll fit in...

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 25 May 2006 09:14 (seventeen years ago) link

if villalobos will be at the t-bar on sunday, i would be up for that.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 25 May 2006 09:41 (seventeen years ago) link

i think it's almost certain that he will be, afaik he always shows up to the afterparties.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 25 May 2006 11:12 (seventeen years ago) link

My friend will be visiting and we will be in town so may come down to t-bar. I can just show up right? I don't have to 'do' anything?

(seventh hit for villalobos & "t bar" in Google is rchinn's MySpace!)

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Thursday, 25 May 2006 16:34 (seventeen years ago) link

awesome. i have penetrated the indexed and pageranked zeitgest.

chance villalobos might not make it to t-bar and could be at secretsundaze.

rchinn (rchinn), Thursday, 25 May 2006 20:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Could you keep me updated on this. Thank you!

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Thursday, 25 May 2006 21:38 (seventeen years ago) link

Secretsundaze have a 'sectret guest' this sunday but they assure me it isn't V. THEY MAY BE TRYING TO FOOL ME!

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Friday, 26 May 2006 16:39 (seventeen years ago) link

tell me more about secretsundaze - they've always been too secret for me to know anything about them, i think.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 26 May 2006 16:56 (seventeen years ago) link

If I were in london this weekend I'd be going to the multi-soundsystem teknival in the west country, but I'm not, which is arse.

Ed (dali), Friday, 26 May 2006 17:08 (seventeen years ago) link

toby, email them and they'll put you on their mailout list...

DJ T, MANDY and Booka Shade are at Fabric on the 24th... anyone?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 5 June 2006 15:41 (seventeen years ago) link

OBVIOUSLY

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:46 (seventeen years ago) link

YES.

permanent revolution (cis), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:57 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm in Berlin dammit!

the ironing is like bratwurst

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I will be at Fabric for M.A.N.D.Y. yes.

rchinn (rchinn), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 19:32 (seventeen years ago) link

somewhat tempting, although it's my sister's birthday party that evening, which will probably stop me. any news on any afterparties?

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 19:57 (seventeen years ago) link

eulberg, neumann, loco dice 8th july @ the end?

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 21:23 (seventeen years ago) link

two weeks pass...
SO. get physical, fabric, this saturday. who's doing it?

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 22 June 2006 07:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Don't think so. I have no money, it's Fabric and there's an England match the next day I want to be in a reasonable state for. That minimal stuff on the 8th looks tempting though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 June 2006 08:24 (seventeen years ago) link

Actually, what I would really like sometime soon is a night of big FRIDAY dancing, as every Saturday in forever is kind of filled up. Anything good going on?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 June 2006 08:27 (seventeen years ago) link

My friends are playing at a bar named Fluid tomorrow nite, round the corner from Fabric. Usual suspects' dance music, basically. Night's called Short Circuit, used to do very good buisness back in our student daze.

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Thursday, 22 June 2006 17:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Did anyone go on Saturday in the end then?

Also, who is up for CROSS CENTRAL on the August bank holiday weekend? I'm toying with the idea of both nights but may just get Saturday tix at first.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 10:43 (seventeen years ago) link

annabel, ian, sophie, robin and i went, with some of annabel's work colleagues. it was FUCKING AWESOME! we ended up drinking lager on the pavement of gray's inn road at 8.30am like proper homeless people. impressively katie also went out raving, still with her cast on.

tdk is ON - i'm thinking both days...
