I just can't get past that part in that "people from the wire/hlots" clip where the medical examiner is in the middle of a heated confrontation with Tony Gray and lifts his chin up. Perhaps the most uncanny Wire-actors-in-other-things moment I've seen.

This past week I watched like 8 various Law & Orders at various times and ALL of them had Wire actors in them somewhere. Nick Sobotka as a failed actor. Burrell as an upstate cop, sorta improbably letting Benson's brother off the hook for shooting a hostage. Carver as Goren's temporary replacement. Rawls as a convict/informant. Method Man terrorizing Nigerians. Judge Phelan as a New York judge. Omar as that hitman. It might have been more than 8, even.

The crossover isn't surprising -- there's a crapload of actors in the Wire and pretty much any TV actor hits L&O at some point -- but like four of those were watched during some kind of marathon, so it was like four in a row

if not then i saw him in the trailer for some other terrible movie recently

I was randomly channel surfing and had stopped on the Cosby Show and thought to myself "hey, this guy looks like Carver". I watched the whole thing to make sure it was him. Saw him on L&O:CI as a detective, and on Oz where he played a CO (along with a scene with him in full naked glory). I'm sure his wife must be a very happy woman, etc.

weirded me out that in the Rawls drag scene, Lester makes his first appearance AND another character uses a Judge Phelan-esque turn of phrase about "throwing a hump into her"

Andre Royo (Bubbles) is supposed to be on the season premiere of Fringe.

Also, he was hilarious on Party Down, and not typecast, which was sweet.

Idris Elba was in Takers, using his natural accent. which was kind of stupid because he was the one barking the orders during a bank robbery, and the fact that he had an accent made him easy to identify. one of many bad plot points.
