I think of Connie Francis as the Linda Ronstadt of her day. I mean that as a compliment to both ladies.

Did you know Connie Francis had a number one greatest hits album in the UK in 1977? Sadly, I suspect neither did she, but here's what I have to say about it, and her: http://nobilliards.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/connie-francis-20-all-time-greats.html.

Bear Family did one of their Rocks sets on her that's supposed to be pretty decent. I've only heard a couple of tracks by her.

it's too bad she fell out of fashion so quickly, because 'Don't Ever Leave Me' should have been a huge hit! (and it probably would have been if Lesley Gore or the Crystals had recorded it). did she record anything else in this vein?

Not that I can find, but I just found out that she did an album of Bacharach / David tunes via Spotify. Which is funny, 'cos I'm a Bacharach obsesso. It's a little conservative in its production, and there aren't any rare gems covered.
