"Hater" sounds more like a Kanye song f/ Jay-Z than vice versa

it's sooo bad...it's like they had a dare to see who could be more annoying with their lame-ass word-stretching and vocal inflections

yeah i figure most reviews of this will be unreadable. if i'm going to listen to this album in full at some point, it'll have to be a pure, personal experience between me, the music, and the bloated corpse of my youthful jay-z standom.

^^ srs question, what song do you think Kanye was referring to when he said he did "probably one of the best hip-hop beats of all time" for this album -- i swear to god out of the 8 beats he did on BP3 "Run This Town" might actually be the closest thing to a realistic candidate

after 'american gangster' i've pretty much swore off from ever listening to another jay-z album in full

what i hate about American Gangster is that it's always just barely interesting enough that I keep it on but never really enjoy it; at least Blueprint 3 is real easy to turn off, so it's less of a waste of time

i think that's the UK single and "On To The Next One" is the US single? either way, shameful enough for him to even make that song, let alone shoot a video.

"on to the next one" would actually be a good choice, best rap song on the album imo

I don't like that "Empire State of Mind" Pazz and Jop Single of the Year song.

Having to review "Young Forever" has reminded me that I haven't totally transcended the feeling of absolute hatred for certain pieces of music.

It just appalls me that any piece of music from someone who was ever once good could be this gratuitously bad. Why didn't they even bother to autotune (in the pre-Cher sense) the chorus?

"young forever" is awful but there's at LEAST five worse songs on the album iirc!

yeah...i'm already starting to get pretty sick of "Onto The Next One," i guess anything that feels like a breath of fresh air in the context of Blueprint 3 would be a fart anywhere else

i pretty much dig "on to the next one" tho

the only hot line in "on to the next one" -- "niggas want my old shit, buy my old albums" -- is undercut by the fact that it's spit on a song from the blueprint 3

i would rapidshare them if i hadnt already bought them

i give up. I love jay-z and even found a lot to like about blueprint 2 even though it has a lot of crap on it. but i flat out just don't like blueprint 3. lyrically it's...bad. even the production pales in comparison to the original, but I have not been able to finish this album since the first 3 listens.

yeah...honestly this album makes Kingdom Come sound good

i even tried listening again on Friday after taking several months off to see if maybe itw as a "just wasn't in the mood for it at the time" but nope. the flow sucks, the lyrics suck. and yet it got fairly good reviews, which surprised me.

Even "Run This Town" is a bit neutered - kinda pop rap like T.I. (whom I like btw), but it would have been a lesser song on The Blueprint.

ohw ell, guess I'll stick with listening to Freeway and Tech N9ne...
