i have dreams about irl people i'm not attracted to too, pretty normal i think

no one decoded my trainer/dentist/ankle/babby/networking dream.

yeah, but I don't know what the hospital thing was about ... it was obviously a "something bad is gonna happen if I'm not careful" fear, but I have no idea what the fear is.

xp tza: perhaps it has to do with trying to go about doing what you want with your life (symbolized by the babby), and the problems you're having getting into the arts admin circle in a new city, while trying to do what you're "supposed" to do - networking, following the standard path proscribed by professionals (symbolized by the trainer)?

had a dream w/ multiple threads that are hard to separate
- wanted eggplant parmesan so bad (still do lol) but could not find a recipe. was making it from memory but kept getting distracted. my sister had purposely left some plastic disc (like the top to a coffee cup or other container) inside a frying pan and had turned the gas on all the way up. like she did it for a reason, twice. i was like "melting plastic! are you trying to give me cancer!" then i realized that while i was removing the plastic thing she had dumped water into my flour so i couldn't dredge the eggplants and had to buy ALL the ingredients again. then i completely forgot the recipe and was going everywhere looking for stuff like corn, carrots, stuff that doesn't belong.
- some bodybuilders were around for a competition or something? one was my friend (not an irl friend, just in the dream) and he kissed me and i was grossed out by him
- there was another contest, like an engineering contest, where my friend (irl) and i were trying to make something out of different scraps of yarn. it was really frustrating because we were doing it in a really disorganized way.

I had a dream some scruffy stoner dude gave me a free sample of an herb that acted as a feline on/off switch. when I held it in front of my cat's face, she sniffed it once and fell asleep, sniffed it twice and woke up, sniffed it thrice and fell asleep again, et cetera. she seemed pretty irritated by it all.

you desire a place in life with more power than you currently have, but you hold back on striving for more because you worry you may not be the benevolent ruler you hope to be, and instead a big jerk who treats his subjects like pawns.

I tend in my waking life to consider myself not bossy/assertive enough for my own good, but maybe I need to rethink that in light of my dreemz. to tyrannize a cat is to tyrannize a tyrant (cuz cats are really bossy!), so maybe I'm constantly trying to one-up the most stubborn authority figures in my life. I am the big jerk who belittles bigger jerks. intersting.

dreamt i was playing doubles w/ my brother against venus&serena. i don't even like tennis irl! we were losing very badly but thought we could still win. wherever we were playing had a vietnamese restaurant that also had pizza and subs, and there was a van driving by that had a few live chimpanzees in the back seat. at the end of the dream i was holding up the game because i had to go to the bathroom. that's when i woke up and i really did have to go to the bathroom!

dreamt i was going to school for another year and had lost my schedule so i just walked into a classroom and one of my law school professors that i had 3 times was there, but the class he was teaching was real variables II. i already took that class in undergrad but it was like i couldn't leave, i had to just take it again. some people from high school were there. it was like a mixture of all types of school i've ever been to. wtf does it mean?

i dreamt about a hurricane that was hitting upstate new york (that wasn't really ny) and then moving south but i don't remember the rest.

i had another dream a few days ago where i was at the beach and i thought this guy brought a tiger with him to the beach but it turned out to be a lady w/ really long nails. then i saw machu picchu and decided to go for a drive there. it was misty and i hiked a little on huayna picchu, and took some pictures with my cell phone of cloudy, grey machu picchu and then drove down the spiraling roads (which were not at all like the road from aquas calientes to machu picchu and then i lost my phone and couldn't show my sister the pictures.

i dreamt i had gone to the bank to cash some checks and i got back weird denominations like $374.81 and $1101. i was at a mexican grocery store trying to deposit them or use them and everyone was confused.

i dreamed about having a job interview to be a researcher for national geographic focusing on arts and crafts of the areas they were writing stories about. but it was a job in my parents' town that would last for a year and then i was back at school with a bunch of assholes trying to do a presentation about the benefits of social media marketing in the arts and they were being so rude and not letting me speak and i kicked one person out of the class. after that i decided hey maybe i should just go home and take the job w/ the well-known publication even if it meant living at home for a year. ugh.

i dreamt about getting an apartment. i had looked at it and paid the security deposit but when i was about to move in i realized it was all wrong. it had a red/orange/yellow pukey shag carpet throughout, and instead of just one kitchen with a sink and a stove there were kitchens all over. like you would go into one and the next room would also be a kitchen, etc. each one either had multiple tiny sinks or several stoves. some of the stoves were facing the wrong direction. i was annoyed because the ones that were usable were electric and the gas ones wouldn't work. i refused to move in and the property manager wrote me a long letter describing how disappointed she was. she listed all the benefits of living there, including that it was near a few bank branches and some doctors lived in the building. but the building was also dirty with garbage in front. i explained to her that i already had a better apartment and i would never live there, especially with the messed up kitchens. i lost my security deposit but i didn't have to pay rent for the day i moved in, which was a huge relief.

People who say that other people's dreams aren't interesting are assholes. They're like little stories.

I was annoyed that I had such a good idea when I was dreaming this morning, and I couldn't remember it when I woke up to figure out if it was really a good idea, or just dream-good. In my dream, I think I was about to type the idea out on a computer in a garage in a place where apparently I or my family or friend or acquaintance lived.

why not clutch a laptop in your arms as you're falling asleep? at the very worst, you'll wake up to a word document filled with typographically wacky ee cummings shit, and at best you'll've dreamtyped a list of yummy snack foods you haven't eaten or even thought about in years. either way, you win.

I ('m white btw) dreamt that an unknown black guy came up to me in a hallway, shook my hand vigorously, and said something like, "I never imagined in a million years that a black guy like me would shake hands with a white guy like you." overcome with the gravity of the moment, I replied, unironically, "This sure is a...moment." my new friend gave me a knowing nod, and we went our separate ways.

I dreamt that I bought a flawless ear of corn from a farm stand. after taking it home and cooking it, I noticed that about 80% of the kernels were crushed, dessicated, and totally inedible. disappointed but hungry nonetheless, I nibbled away at the few kernels that were still palatable, but it wasn't a very satisfying snack.

dirty ol' Freud would probably trace my dream to a fear of infertility (low kernel count = low sperm count? eww), but fuck him.

in part of a dream i can't really remember i told someone i didn't trust a cop to do some task and the person was like "WHAT? YOU DON'T LIKE COPS?" and got all in my face about it. jerk.

i dreamt my brother was visiting and his car got towed and we lost our phones so we couldnt find out where it was so we went to 100 impound lots asking for it, it was really stressful

I had a dream the other night that I needed a liver transplant but while I was waiting for it I kept having to take my current liver (which was green, btw) out of my body to like clean it and get infusions of some sort. Then I befriended another transplant candidate but he got really sick and I had to save him. It was all very scary.

I dreamt that I auditioned for American Idol. Instead of performing live in front of the judges, I handed Simon Cowell a demo cassette. I told the judges to to delay listening to it until I was out of earshot, as I was too shy to take their criticism firsthand. True to form, Simon just laughed and made fun of my teeth. He insinuated that I never flossed and that my plaque and tartar buildup was severe enough to disgust any audience in the world. I went ballistic, calling his remarks "shallow" and "totally inappropriate" and demanding that he judge me on the strength of my music alone, because the music was all that mattered, man. Simon continued to play the poopyhead, but Sharon Osbourne seemed sympathetic to my plight.

• i was writing a paper about appropriating things from foreign cultures, but i was using wikipedia and blogs for research
• i met a boy, stayed at his house, then the next day he said "you should be in my wedding!" so i was in his wedding (he was not wearing wedding-wear but an ugly periwinkle blue acrylic sweater). he got married and then he told me "i wish i'd married you instead." it was a great relief.
• i hung out in his wife's dorm room at the university of virginia but the university of virginia was in ohio or indiana in the dream.

i dreamed about playing piano.

last night as i was falling asleep i was thinking about walking and was lucid dreaming that someone threw an empty cardboard box at my head, and i found myself ducking quickly in my bed. in real life. it was weird.

i dreamt about getting a 2 on the ap physics exam. it was a huge disaster and the end of my academic life.

yes! i even knew that in my dream that was why. my dreams have been really meta lately, like they make me panic but at the same time i know they're dreams about something.

yeah. i haven't had any real panicky dreams but just normal every day things happening and i know i'm dreaming and there's not really a lot at stake.
