you could always tattoo, a tattoo of an aye-aye, over it, at a later date, if you get bored. with it!!

a tattoo of an aye-aye is what you need, kirsten

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 18:39 (nineteen years ago) link

After years of consideration I've decided what sort of tattoo I want to get: TOTORO!!!

Now I just need to muster up the cash and the courage...

Mandee, yesterday i left my logic lecture early, giving the professor the excuse that i was babysitting for the child of a couple named "chet and tammy mcmarkelson." i don't know why i even bothered to make up an excuse, let alone the people's names, because he wouldn't have cared if i'd just left. see how you have infiltrated my life?
and yes, clearly a tattoo of an aye-aye is the solution.

kirsten (kirsten), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 18:39 (nineteen years ago) link

aw, Tuomas.

kirsten (kirsten), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 18:40 (nineteen years ago) link

do the diving bird, first, and, then, when you get tired of/embarrassed by it, you can tattoo an open-armed aye-aye, beneath it, with a tear in its eye, readying itself to cradle.

Actually, I'd probably want this pic of him/her with the umbrella.

Boohoo, I just found out my video copy of Totoro isn't working anymore! I haven't had a VCR for a few years, though. Nor a TV set. But I could've watched it at a friends place. Boohoo!

five months pass...
Got new tattoo as part of my Christmas from Kev. I'm really really pleased with it. Been contemplating this design for ages (kokopelli) and felt that the time was right.

He's a wee bit inflammed just now, doesn't help that my t-shirt keeps sticking to him mind. I wish I had a scanner to show everybody!

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:25 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh, and Kev got one too - an egyptian interpretation of a stork. It's like a magic eye poster trying to figure out what it is.

Kokopelli - fertility
Stork - babies

Spot a pattern?!

aye-aye - eternal love

two years pass...
I have just booked my appointment for my first (and probably only ever) tattoo. I went in and arranged it but didn't have the money on me for the deposit. When I came back the guy asked me what price we'd agree on; I told him i didn't remember (even though I did). The receptionist asked the artiste again and ended up accidentally knocking twenty quid off.

It's gonna hurt like fuck innit?

I don't actually want one, but I think I'd pick something geeky/nerdy like this:

that's what they always say. apparently once you crossed the line, you'll be getting more. :-)

I have a masochistic side so I wouldn't rule it out. This one has been five years in coming though so we'll see. I also have an abundance of scars that I haven't paid for.

Uptoeleven, Saturday, 14 April 2007 17:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I have been planning for four years to get one of an ampersand. Maybe this summer or fall...I finally found a high-quality shop, anyway.

Abbott, Saturday, 14 April 2007 18:43 (seventeen years ago) link

I am currently deciding whether or not to get another one. If I do, it will be this:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c287/expatrica/glad3.jpg

I'd want it exactly like that with the black square background, probably on one of my shoulderblades. We'll see.

ENBB, Sunday, 15 April 2007 00:29 (seventeen years ago) link

If I were ever to get a tattoo it would have to be something totally fucking cheesy and vulgar, like a naked woman holding a python standing on a flaming skull.

i'm thinking either this:

(think it means 'strength')

or something with more of a tribal vibe like this:

I was thinking abt getting a USB symbol triton thingding on my wrist, parallel t my arm & w/the prongs right above the palm of my hand. However, I'm worried I'd have to 'splain it to THE YUNGUNS of the future for the rest of my life.

Masonic Boom, Friday, 4 May 2007 10:10 (seventeen years ago) link

That's really interesting. The whole thing including the square or just the triangle and the star?

And what is it/where does it come from?

Uptoeleven, Friday, 4 May 2007 10:16 (seventeen years ago) link

Probably the silver bit in a dark colour (pyramid and antenna) with skin replacing the black bit. It's the Spacemen 3 logo - I know, band logos, really stupid, but it is such an interesting design in many other ways - triangle/star symbolism etc.
