I thought they were both in it?

I think Terry was over in England by that time

It also reminded me to buy that deadly Andy Irvine and Paul Brady LP which I've been meaning to get for ages.

wor tradder bird speaks highly of that. Andy Irvine generally is the man, one of the best live performers I've ever seen and someone I could go to over and over again. Most recently. Paul Brady is a more amusing prospect - given how MOR rubbish is stuff has been in the last couple of decades it is hard to imagine him ever producing work of actual quality.

Wikipedia suggests you are right on ADF.

have you read the Leagues O'Toole book about Planxty yet?

I'm ashamed to admit I know next to nothing about Planxty!

Curse my (former) obsession with English folk music!

It was the indie choice, Tom, nobody blames you.

DV: Joss loves that AI&PB so much, I've heard it quite a lot, and it is amazing.

To *my* shame, I'd always assumed there were two distinct Paul Bradys!

Well I only got into folk music because I heard Steeleye Span and it reminded me of Popol Vuh (and the Velvet Underground)

that andy irvine/paul brady record is sooo beautiful. i've wanted paul brady's first solo record, before he went MOR, for ages, isn't it finally coming out on cd?

Been mulling over the very distinctive vocal stylings of Jim McCann on Carrickfergus this last week and felt this was a thread worth bumping on the subject
