No matter how you slice it, the UK Nirvana was a second-rate, middling psych-pop singles band.

Some highly rate "The Story of Simon Simopath" LP, but I found it pretty sluggish.

US Nirvana. ALL of their singles were better than "Rainbow Chaser".

So apples beats oranges then?

Soundgarden came before Nirvana, and need apologize for nothing. What the world needs now is more Kim Thayil.

So apples beats oranges then

im going to go with the nirvana that wrote "Frances Farmer will have her revenge on seattle"

and oranges are only better than apples that arent Granny Smith.

I've never heard the UK Nirvana. Are they anywhere near as good as, say, Kaleidoscope?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:43 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't know who the other Nirvana is, but "Nirvana" is a great great band name though.........

I pick Nirvana...

Kaleidoscope slays Nirvana U.K., by virtue of becoming Fairfield Parlour.

The Kaleidoscope records are just as good as the F.P. album, no? F.P.'s unreleased White-Faced Lady is really good, too.

I'd rank Kaleidoscope slightly ahead, but musically they are clearly related.
