When I was employed and had access to a high speed connection, I listened to internet radio all the time. Radio Good http://www.radiogood.com was my favorite. I had some trouble with them the last time I tried to listen, but that may have been my connection.

Luckily I am in range of WRAS 88.5 Atlanta, so I don't feel deprived of great radio.

I would like to see internet radio stick around, though. It's a great idea. Part of what I like about it is that anybody can make a station (ahem, like we did: http://www.peopletalktooloud.com) but I fear that if it shows any sign of being popular or commercially viable it will be snatched up and regulated somehow.

Apologies to anyone I've banged on about this to before, but I really love http://www.indiepopradio - it was the first place I heard bands like the Aislers Set and the Essex Green. I know that's not every ILMer's cup of tea, but it's mine, so.

That's probably the best thing about net radio, isn't it? A lot of it's done by amateurs so they can afford to play just what they like, maybe be a bit more obsucre and catch listeners who are willing to give different stuff a try. Another great thing about indiepopradio is you don't get an annoying DJ in between records.

http://www.kcrw.com can be quite good too - they have quite a lot of good live sessions which are all in a convenient list to download if you missed them. The Magnetic Fields one is brilliant.

I've never had problems with listening to internet radio, but then I work for a telecom company so my net access is supafast. Ner.

Am I the only one who listens to internet radio who *loves* DJs? As long as it's someone articulate and informed, I love it, and if it's someone with an amazing voice, all the better. I used to listen to luxuriamusic.com before it went under, and what I loved about it was that the DJs had great voices and talked a bit between songs. Reminded me of the stations my grandfather used to listen to. Some college and pirate radio is like that, and I like knowing that my music isn't programmed by a robot.
