is there any recommended reading about the sordid history of Eugenics around the globe, and religion's role in rebelling against the idea of eugenics (i.e. forced sterilizations) and the prevailing scientific consensus of the time?

A weird nexus between 'progressives' trying to create a better world mixing with out-&-out racists/fascists
I'm afraid it's not just history but probably has a real future, i.e. in the realm of designer babies, etc.
