i can only think of one experience that continues to impress me, and it's probably not even that weird. we biked to the park and were tripping around there for a few hours, but when we headed home, we had to bike up this fairly big hill. for anyone familiar with seattle, this is riding up NE 95th st from sand point way to just past 35th Ave NE. i decided to put the bike into the toughest gear, and it was so easy to do it! i don't even think i could physically do this when sober. i guess my muscles were just detatched from my brain such that i had no awareness of the strain, i don't know.
one of the most fun times i ever had on mushrooms was playing super mario world for about 6 hours

An awful time I've taken it was when I took some after leaving a club after drinking a lot of booze. It started quite fun, but when the peak ended, my friend doing it with me went to sleep, leaving me gradually getting more hungover from booze and the acid, with just my own thoughts for company, which weren't too pleasant and just seemed to steamroller. And another time taking it round a friends house, only for someone I'd never met before to turn up, and who found it hilarious to play mind tricks on me whilst in the peak of the trip.
I agree with Bryan, mushies are better (and free!) And in an almost planned excellence, the season coincides with fireworks night for cheesy visuals.

So, so true.
I always had this weird sensation on mushrooms, though. In my peripheral vision or wherever I wasn't focusing, I'd see this purplish-green substance - like moss - coming out of the corners and taking over carpet and walls. But when I looked at the substance, it started creeping back.
It never bothered me - the mindfuck was never very strong compared to acid - but if I had been paranoid, I bet it would send me into a real spiral. "THE MOSS IS TAKING OVER MAN!!!"

I know schizophrenia is supposedly genetic, but there's a damn good case for it's being a biochemical imbalance and abnormal, crazy behavior being a symptom of the imbalance. In other words, a treatable medical condition.
Bogus, you say? Well, over 4,000 schizophrenic patients have been treated and many cured in the past 40 years thanks to Abram Hoffer's pioneering, which goes back to the early days of LSD and other psychedelic research.
I used to think acid wasn't particularly dangerous and that everyone should try it, but now I'm thinking it might possibly set up a biochemical imbalance. There's got to be a reason that so many people wind up "tripping for life" after dosing.
Biochemical imbalances are your body's reaction to stress. Doctors once thought that by cutting out a person's adrenal glands, schizophrenia could be cured. But, they did not realize at the time that every cell in your body is capable of producing adrenochrome and the amount necessary for your body to react negatively is likened to being able to taste a single grain of sugar in a swimming pool.
So, I have plenty of awesome trip stories I could share, but I don't know if it's proper to get people all curious about such a potentially dangerous drug.

That said, however....
Three guys and I tripped in college this one time. Why we were driving around in a car, I don't know, but it was my idea for the driver to stop at Dairy Queen. They, of course, did not want to enter that restaurant, but I was hungry for an orange blizzard of some sort. With bananas.
I got out of the car, and there was this cold drizzle (really.) The place is packed since it was a Dairy Queen on a Saturday night. It was still early for me, so I was still in that "What's it going to look like when the dude flips the blizzard upside down for me" mode and hadn't "crossed over" just yet. Not much happened inside the place except that the lights were blinding.
I go back outside, and my friends are not there. I look up and down the dark, wet parking lot and the car's gone. It was right around then that I think that I may have "crossed over".
I ran up onto this little hill where there was a picnic table. I sat there, shivering in the rain, eating my ice cream, trying to figure out how and where the hell home was. I remember just shaking the whole time, due to the cold and, I guess, the strichnyne. I felt completely alone and I knew that every car and person was looking at me. I was also next door to a shopping mall.
Finally, after what seemed forever but what was really probably more like five minutes, I saw my friends' car pull around through the drive-thru! They had gotten hungry for some ice cream, too, but had decided to stay in the car! I was overjoyed. I ran down the hill, blizzard in hand, and smacked into the passenger door which apparently scared the FUCKING HOLY SHIT out of my friends inside.
I got back into the warm car, and we all related our jittery stories to one another. As we drove back to the college, I noticed that our windshield and the brake lights of the car ahead of us appeared to be melting. I pointed this out to the driver, adding that it was probably just the rain. He looked at me and said, "They appear to be like that because of the rain, but they're melting because of the LSD."
Gah, my back hurts just talking about it. Here's some crazy soldiers tripped out on LSD to look at. Keep those birds fed, mates.

Ordeal over we retired to our flat and watched a crappy bootleg of the then unreleased Spiderman film which i thought was shit because i could see all of the "wires" the "stuntmen" were wearing. Drove to pick up a friend from work in blinding rain, and at the bottom of a steep hill flash flooding had left water over two feet deep covering the road. In the dark (and in my impaired state) I didn't realize this until my car was stalled and water was seeping in. Ended up having to exit the car through the window, and spent the rest of the night wandering around watching sandbagging crews.

was on acid at parents house, alone with friend, and dad came home from work early because he was sick. i panicked but was shortly relieved when he said he was going straight to bed. i panicked shortly after when we could hear him go into the toilet to be sick. i slowly made my way up the stairs to see if he was alright and was greeted by the sight of him flumped in the bath with broken glass everywhere (which he'd accidentally knocked over) and his false teeth scattered all over the sink.
after initial shock, i preceded to be the good son and went downstairs to find 'something' to put the broken glass into and decided on a bin bag. But then couldn't find the perforated seal on the roll of bags and so requested the assistance of my also high friend - only to discover i was trying to unroll the larger wheelie bin style bags.
To which we both fell on the floor in fits of laughter, for what seemed like hours.

A HS friend came back from MIT with pharma grade acid on his break, and suggested we try it while attending an opening weekend showing of Total Recall (1990). It came in dilute liquid form in a 100 ml sealed tube, which we split.
I recall a tasteless water, an uneventful drive in my car to the theater, but then immense confusion as to where I'd placed my ticket, having to go through every pocket. Once inside the theater lobby, I finally (after 3-4 low dose acid adventures) had the visuals every 60s tripalogue wrote about. Every pattern in the carpet glowed and pulsed with peripheral colors, something like what one sees looking through a diffraction grating in a kaleidoscope. In the theater, I recall very little of the film's narrative, but wasn't having a bad trip per se. It was just too noisy, too cacophonous for me, then. Sometime after three breasted mutants appeared, I decided I needed some fresh air. I'd lost contact with my friend (I think we had to find separate seats), and left through the lobby to the parking lot, and then an adjoining suburban street.
I found a lone tree there, indifferent to connecting with either street or sidewalk, which were pristine, but it connected with me. It was there, so lonely, it had lived most its life with only fumes for companions. There was no garden about, just insipid and closely mown grass. We connected. His was a old soul, compared to mine, he understood my state of anxiety, and calmed me. I leaned against him, and felt his atoms initially repelled and then attracted to the embrace. There was no verbal communication, no insight into his years as seedling or yard decoration. Just release, of pain mostly.
That's where my friend found me, presumably having searched theater and lobby. I would go on that night to harrass other human friends, who perhaps couldn't understand at 2 am that love could be so generous. But I believe that tree understood.

here is an actual contribution... dont know what qualifies an acid ‘story’ other than doing acid, but, did acid and my tripping pals and i encountered a peaceful deer in the woods in the arboretum of my college and all of us almost started crying because a benign and sweet animal was approaching us, coming within feet. then i left them all rolling around in piles of leaves because they were so gone? then while desperately trying to get home and out of the arboretum a picture perfect white blonde girl employee of the college (swedish liberal arts school so thats just sorta the ‘normie’ of the environment) was driving around some donors on a golf cart through the arboretum and i had to playact nice and it severly distracted and disturbed me. then i put on VU ‘what goes on’ and the triple layered guitar solo changed my life

Several years ago I went on a pretty intense day hike with a friend to a place called Gothic Basin and brought recently acquired acid, which I had never done before. Once at the (amazing, beautiful) top I took a small amount, maybe 1/3 of a tab, figuring it would do something but I should make sure it was legit and I didn’t react badly to it. On the way down my friend got stung by a hornet; she’s allergic to bee stings and had not brought any medication or an epi-pen. She decided to just run 3-4 miles down this quite steep mountain trail in order to get to civilization before the reaction got too bad, and I followed. I was pretty terrified that I’d put a foot wrong while running and then we’d be truly screwed, but we managed to get back to the trailhead in one piece and I drove her car back successfully and all was well. My first time taking a full dose was much more chill and relatively uneventful.

Yeah, I had a couple mushroom experiences in the last year or two which were not filled with grace, illumination and merging with the cosmos; I just felt weird and decided that I'm not gonna be a part of the neo-psychedelic tribe. I'm glad for the experiences of my late teens & early twenties, but that was then, this is now.

That said - a buddy bought a vape pen filled with DMT and that was kinda rad because it only lasts a few minutes; a bit like nitrious oxide but with more visuals.

I've been pretty curious about that. I've never tried psychedelics and the dude who's been goading me into shrooms is pretty insistent I take a full dose, which I really don't wanna do out of the gate. DMT pen might be cool though

Had a drop and then went and played in the ocean, just wading in up to my calves, running away from waves, exploring sea caves etc.
I can't officially recommend that since the ocean is a dangerous place.
But it's the best thing you could possibly do.

Those three LSD trips I mentioned upthread were the only ones I've done so far. I still want to trip once or twice more in my lifetime.
