It's so "Rock and roll Martian."

"...if you don't talk to your kids about bedspreads, who will?"

And we haven't even mentioned frickin' Borgnine yet.

three weeks pass...

Watching Racket Girls again thanks to that recent set -- Jesus H. I can't disagree with Eric H. about making that one a top choice.

Next set:

Episodes will be: 105- THE CORPSE VANISHES (with short: COMMANDO CODY PT 3), 501- WARRIOR OF THE LOST WORLD, 521- SANTA CLAUS and 701- NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST (with short: ONCE UPON A HONEYMOON)

Extras will include:
* A new interview with “Warrior of the Lost World” director David Worth
* Santa Claus Conquers the Devil: A 50-Year Retrospective
* Santa Claus original radio spot
* Santa Claus still gallery
* Teaser for “Wonder World of K. Gordon Murray in Colorscope”
* Night of the Blood Beast Turkey Day host segments
* Turkey Day ‘95 bumpers
* Original theatrical trailers
* 4 exclusive MST3K lobby cards by artist Steve Vance
* And, in a limited-edition version, a Tom Servo figurine

It’s scheduled for release on Dec. 1.

I do like the continued progression through Season 1, I'm hoping that continues.

Racket Girls is just non-stop, relentless riffing with virtually nil dud punchlines, especially when action switches to the ring.

"IT'S IGGY POP!"

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 13 September 2009 03:39 (fourteen years ago) link

"Strut, pout, put it out, that's what you want from Grandma!"

"I love the rings! Whoopee!"

("You sure look like a swell dish to me.") "Chaplin speaks!"

added "racket girls" to my netflix. we just watched "touch of satan," which drags a little towards the end (both the original and the mocking), also lacks much in the way of satan.

like, apparently satan a) saves peoples' lives if you agree to do nothing in particular for him, b) makes old ladies kill cops and c) keeps you looking youthful for well over 100 years.

RIP Robert Ginty, aka 'the Paper Chase guy' from Warrior of the Lost World.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 23 September 2009 22:43 (fourteen years ago) link

aww, RIP. i remember him from such films as "the exterminator."

Ginty later directed a hip-hop production of "A Clockwork Orange" in Toronto.

Guys, I love Gypsy so much. If ever I am having to deal with a woman who is insane and impatient, pretending she is Gypsy makes everything manageable.

eye creatures episode is classic, 'specially the part about how the filmmakers "just. didn't. care."

one month passes...

went to see the Riff Trax Christmas shorts live thing at a local movie theater last night. Not bad! Lotsa good, creepy Santa stuff. And Weird Al makes a guest appearance, but he seemed eager to leave the stage.

andrew m., Thursday, 17 December 2009 16:19 (fourteen years ago) link

Really need to bust out Santa Claus Conquers the Martians here (both MST3K and the Cinematic Titanic version).

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 17 December 2009 16:21 (fourteen years ago) link

I wanted to go to the Riff Trax Christmas, but I have been way to busy and there's no way I could find a babysitter.

The first year that we can't celebrate a Patrick Swayze Christmas ;(

James Mitchell, Thursday, 17 December 2009 16:25 (fourteen years ago) link

i'd say just take your child, nicole, but it would probably put him/her off santa, elves, other children, moms, dads, pork, "small and of no account" christmas trees, and various other things for life.

andrew m., Thursday, 17 December 2009 16:27 (fourteen years ago) link

I don't know how other people in the theater would have felt about having a rambunctious 2 year old there.

ô_o (Nicole), Thursday, 17 December 2009 16:28 (fourteen years ago) link

a rambunctious 2 year old would've been better than being stuck next to a bunch of fools who apparently thought that the pros riffing on screen gave them license to add their own loud riffs for 2 hours!

andrew m., Thursday, 17 December 2009 16:32 (fourteen years ago) link

Yikes. Next time, maybe they should do some sort of pay per view or on demand type of thing, because that sounds bad.
