Wait -- if pointy is out, and rounded is out, that only leaves oblique and square! Which are BOTH more contrived than rounded (although maybe not more than stiletto-pointed). :D

haha, oblique shoes - yeah, you could wear me, maybe, if you feel like it, and you might not, but that reminds me of this story about my friend, well, not my friend but a friend of friend, anyway, it's a pretty good story, i mean, it made me laugh at the time, where was i when he told it? i think it was in that cafe, you know the one, the one with the thing on the sign, it's orange, what is it a chicken? no, i think it's a duck, yeah, it's not in my neighbourhood, that's why i don't really remember, i don't go there often, i prefer the cafe down the block, have i taken you there yet? we should go.

I'd chime in, but I haven't bought any casual footwear since January. However, if anyone's in the West End over the next few, I'm trying to decide on a pair to blow my mismanaged budget on right now.

I see a lot of foppish dudes are into Swear and Buddhahood and all that other jazz Office shoppers go for - think that might help?

those are tough boots, laurels! brown suede boots above not so tough, but cute for sure. i like the buttons up the side a lot. i want tall lace-up boots even though they are a pain.

i am all into heels lately - i like the ones you posted, horseshoe! i've been coveting the ysl big weird heeled ones and knock-offs of (though not in gold). but yeah, winter in this city as a pedestrian/public-transit user = no heels. ah well.

yeah, i know - i need to unlearn some things maybe. i should give gold more of a chance. i'm more of a silver/platinum girl really. but you're right, gold is really nice and can be classic if the right tone. i do have this shiny gold shawl i found somewhere and i like it.

which i guess is part of what i mean by gold having to be the right "tone" to me. gold to me is often too close to beige and that just washes me out. i would wear gold shoes with something pink though.

a friend of mine was wearing a wide gold pleated belt - more like a thin cumberbund really - tonight with a black t-shirt and dark blue pants. it worked and looked good. she's got innate style though; she can pull off a lot of stuff. i would wear such gold accessories, i decided. esp with matching shoes and handbag.
