Curry did NOT look happy when Dray was ejected tonight. Appeared a bit emotional and his body language was even worse. Honestly wonder if they don't blow things up in the off season and trade Dray and avoid re-signing Klay (assuming he wants >$20M)

was literally crying, kind of bizarre!

Very emotional season for him. Thinking he’s coming to grips with his declining athleticism just like Klay has had to. And dray stuff just compounds it.

Also this team just can’t finish halves at all. Curry so many inexcusable turnovers this year.

good game tho and they stopped everyones favorite dallas mavericks

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 April 2024 13:38 (three weeks ago) link

Yah that was a fun game lots of swings. Wiggins best game of the season and did really well guarding Luka.

steph since the asb 19 games 40/36 splits and only 2.5 fta per game. the ankle injury was in there and im sure its part of the issue but he really doesnt look right, like his mind is somewhere else.

21 y/o with tendinitis seems not good

Jonathan Kuminga is out again tonight, per Warriors. Sixth straight missed game with knee tendinitis.

Game was on at the gym. In the first 10 min or so it was a comedy of turnovers missed layups blown defensive assignments.

that's not my post, Saturday, 6 April 2024 01:14 (three weeks ago) link

Then the bench settled it down. But they’re running out of gas to start this 4th

Final five games set up pretty well for the Warriors, but path to move up would've been far clearer with W tonight

vs Jazz
at Lakers (tiebreaker on the line)
at Blazers
vs Pelicans (tiebreaker on the line)
vs Jazz

I Chet the Holmgren (Spottie), Tuesday, 9 April 2024 21:42 (two weeks ago) link

What a sad season. Just gotta laugh looking back at my misplaced optimism to start the season. The ride was inevitably gonna end tho. They don't really have a lot of options for improvement this offseason. Just gotta hope the young guys can make a leap big enough to offset the core three's decline and maybe they can squeak into the 1st round next year. At least Steph is still fun to watch in 2/3s of the games. Gonna go watch some old highlights to soothe the pain.

Chyiv Kyiv (Fetchboy), Wednesday, 17 April 2024 15:22 (one week ago) link

do the big three want to keep doing this, obvs you want them and particularly steph to retire warriors, but i assume they all want to play multiple more years are they willing to be on a bad team

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 April 2024 15:48 (one week ago) link

I don't see any real point to a big teardown. None of their young players are particularly coveted, and they fit the program and timeline well enough.

They'd be quite fortunate to find anyone as good as TJD with their late 2nd round pick this year, and he's a decent starting center at best.

Try to move Wiggins to the Raptors to free up some space, maybe re-sign Klay for the fans, and hopefully Dunleavy will keep hitting singles and doubles in the draft.

he got asked at his press conference last night "what makes you confident that you, klay, and draymond as a trio have more gas left in the tank" and you could see him sort of sigh and almost acknowledge w/ his face that there was no good answer to that question. he replied w/ some pretty standard stuff about knowing they're getting old but still feeling confident in their ability but imo you could tell that he wasn't believing what he was saying

its an interesting situation where reality is rubbing up against the romanticism of playing for one team whole career, the current scenario is getting depressing for all parties involved

have a feeling steph and probably also dray are going to ride it out until the end. chris paul however will win his first ring after signing with denver on a minimum

brony james (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 17 April 2024 17:06 (one week ago) link

their best bet is to resign klay cheap, trade wiggins and picks for something. curry needs some more shot creation around him badly. hope that kuminga can find another tier. or maybe flip kuminga for an all star level player. i think they were an honest 5-6 seed this year if draymond didnt get suspended and or kicked out of ~20 games. idk they are prob better than what they showed last night but the ceiling has lowered significantly. curry was quite average over the last two months or so.

im good with whatever they decide as long as curry retires a warrior (if thats what he wants). would love to see all three do the same but sometimes you gotta make hard decisions.

I Chet the Holmgren (Spottie), Wednesday, 17 April 2024 18:53 (one week ago) link

there were only 4 games between 10th and 5th, it's not outrageous to say they were more of a middle of the pack team this year, it's prob true. i just don't see many good reasons for why they're likely to rise to the top of the morass next year aside from just some random luck breaking one way or another

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 17 April 2024 21:45 (one week ago) link

xp yeah Curry was pretty rough after the All Star Break. He really needs to be load managed now more than ever and he played a lot of games, a lot of back to backs, and it def seemed like his tank was on empty.

If they can't get a top tier scorer along side him next year (or one emerges from the youth group, i.e. Kuminga), they won't be going anywhere.

I agree with trading Wiggins, resigning Klay cheap, and keeping him on the bench, but wouldn't be against him not on the team at all so the org can begin to transition beyond the big 3 and "warm feelings". It's either nostalgia or an outside chance at a seed higher than 6 it feels like with them at this stage.

octobeard, Wednesday, 17 April 2024 22:03 (one week ago) link

That said, they were not far from winning like 54 games this year which could have had them as the 4th seed.

Or trade him to the Hornets for Lamelo + fillers (Seth!), it'd be a sweet homecoming for Steph.

Costas Mandylorian (Leee), Wednesday, 17 April 2024 23:18 (one week ago) link

I highly doubt he has any interest in playing for the Hornets. He wants to win.

i think that was the real cost of drays suspensions. put them in a hole early and curry had to play a ton and had to be pressing every game to try and get them back in the mix. he woulda sat probably ten more games if there were more comfortably set in the standings. kerr needed to unleash kuminga (and moody) much earlier in the season and given wiggins a much shorter leash until he could figure out whatever was going on w his brain. also gave loon way to long of a leash, dude looked like a 10 minutes per night guy from the jump.
