I have my first bag of the European season. I am going to give myself runny times if I keep eating them at this rate.

small citrus availability = deal breaker

caek, Sunday, 19 October 2008 18:30 (fifteen years ago) link

i don't even think my shitty ohio grocery store has them :(

harbl, Sunday, 19 October 2008 18:34 (fifteen years ago) link

should have mentioned this on Liveblogging caek's job applications — "Wisconsin? i hear that's a real party state."

caek, Sunday, 19 October 2008 18:35 (fifteen years ago) link

oh

harbl, Sunday, 19 October 2008 18:40 (fifteen years ago) link

i didn't know gambier, ohio existed until now. that is not "near columbus." they probably do not have clementines there.

harbl, Sunday, 19 October 2008 18:42 (fifteen years ago) link

http://www.kenyon.edu/ is a good school, but no small citrus is a recipe for lonely midwestern days

caek, Sunday, 19 October 2008 18:45 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah i know 1 or 2 people who went there. columbus has clementines somewhere, i just don't look very hard. not gambier though. they probably don't even have tacos.

i'm having trouble finding great clementines this year, those big boxes are so hit or miss. waiting patiently for pixie tangerines to come in season.

velko, Thursday, 29 January 2009 19:40 (fifteen years ago) link

2 today. 1 last night.

ian, Thursday, 29 January 2009 21:36 (fifteen years ago) link

1 a day.

after a couple middling boxes the one I just bought is sweeet. last of the season?

m coleman, Thursday, 29 January 2009 23:24 (fifteen years ago) link

The single clementine I had from the whole bag of 'mostly seedless' clementines had about 30 seeds in. I think it was the queen clementine, laying eggs to further the race.

do you feel like you took its power

with the eating

dmr, Friday, 30 January 2009 05:47 (fifteen years ago) link

I felt like Sigourney Weaver in a giant mechanical exo-suit.

It was the most empowering clementine experience of my life.
