nice ILX guys

who is this? tuomas?

max, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:21 (sixteen years ago) link

High Fidelity is sort of gross but I do always watch it when it's on TV

A B C, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:21 (sixteen years ago) link

I voted Tapeheads not just because it is my favorite movie ever dreamed up but also because that one part he reaches out the window (driver side!) of a moving vehicle and grabs a beer. Also because he dances more in that movie than in any other. That I've seen.

jesus stop xposting you assholes

nickalicious, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:21 (sixteen years ago) link

i'm not sure i find jack black more unwatchable or nick hornby more unreadable

am i the only one who sees john cusack and sometimes thinks 'fourth Beastie'? is it the hair and sunken cheeks? the Ione connection?

wait, where is City Hall?

gabbneb, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:23 (sixteen years ago) link

Beastie Goy

gabbneb, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:24 (sixteen years ago) link

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link

I voted Bullets Over Broadway, because I like to be alone.

kenan, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:29 (sixteen years ago) link

If I thought of him as a 4th Beastie it would be because of that movie he did a cameo in that starred John Doe and Ad Rock that I always mistakenly think is called The Road To El Dorado because the most memorable moment is Ad Rock shouting IS THIS THE ROAD TO EL DORADOdododo? all Beastie style from motorcycle back.

nickalicious, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:29 (sixteen years ago) link

i saw that in the theater w/my dad that was a long time ago

jhøshea, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:30 (sixteen years ago) link

i probably still love 'say anything' but no wait really it's just worn thin for me and i just love its memory, which is fine

'bullets over broadway' b/c of the don't speak don't speak part and jc being a sham writer

rrrobyn, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:31 (sixteen years ago) link

"I'M A WHORE!"

kenan, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:31 (sixteen years ago) link

rrrobyn, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:31 (sixteen years ago) link

kenan, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:32 (sixteen years ago) link

Best film in that list may be Thin Red Line.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link

oh, def

kenan, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link

Ivan: Anybody else who'd save Pablo Casales - perhaps the greatest cellist in the world with the possible exception of Yo-Yo Ma - from a fiery car wreck on Sunset Boulevard would be bragging about it, but not Josh. He didn't want to spoil the 11 o'clock news for you.
Norton: Don't bullshit me. I'm a big cello fan! Casales died years ago!

nickalicious, Thursday, 14 June 2007 15:35 (sixteen years ago) link

nicka otm except that i recently re-saw it and it wasn't as good as it was back when i saw it five times in the theater and bought the soundtrack

better off dead is so classic

latebloomer, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:01 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah that is completely 100% true

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Tough call since he's been there for me at crucial moments...
Better off Dead: adolescent angst + comedy + Van Halen + claymation
Say Anything: Teenage Torture - comedy + Ione Skye
Grosse Point Blank: coming to terms with adulthood angst + comedy + bloody murder
=
Grosse Point Blank is the winner here.

killing Dan Aykroyd w/ a TV set has to be worth something

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:20 (sixteen years ago) link

the commercials for the new thing he's in where he's looking for his dead daughter in a ghost hotel room where samuel l jackson is the concierge are just like god man what's going on with you

A B C, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:21 (sixteen years ago) link

he is playing an Iraq-war widower in a Sundance weeper later this year. so, SERIOUS.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:23 (sixteen years ago) link

I really like him and enjoy a ton of this stuff but the best actual film is easily Bullets Over Broadway

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:24 (sixteen years ago) link

too obv a "Woody wants to kill Mia" movie

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:26 (sixteen years ago) link

Wherefore art Sure Thing, the movie where my stupid, not-nearly-ready-for-fatherhood, 20 year old dad got the idea to name me Nick.

YES, MY CHRISTIAN NAME COMES FROM SOMETHING THAT CAME OUT OF JOHN CUSACK'S MOUTH IN A ROADTRIP FILM.

Phil D., Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:40 (sixteen years ago) link

enn eye see kay you shd puke in yr dads car to show him a thing or 2

Dimension 5ive, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:41 (sixteen years ago) link

In response, I'd like to point out that "Better Off Dead" has a CLAYMATION HAMBURGER. Singing a VAN HALEN SONG. And the fat kid from "Head of the Class." Game, set, match.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:49 (sixteen years ago) link

also neglected in poll: that "My Pal Hitler" flick in which Cusack is woefully miscast

latebloomer, Thursday, 14 June 2007 16:50 (sixteen years ago) link

We are, but I don't care. I love it.

luna, Thursday, 14 June 2007 17:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Grosse Point Blank is awesome for the reference to Better Off Dead

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Thursday, 14 June 2007 17:03 (sixteen years ago) link

I voted based on CST (Cusack Screen Time). Hence, my vote went to Stand By Me.

(16 Candles could've got my vote, too, but the CST is negated by the AMHST.)

Pleasant Plains, Thursday, 14 June 2007 17:38 (sixteen years ago) link

your pathetic attempts at subtly manipulating every poll result are really starting to grate on me.

deeznuts, Thursday, 14 June 2007 17:50 (sixteen years ago) link

i voted GPB because the idea of Cusack as this hardened hitman guy is so ludicrous/genius.

blueski, Thursday, 14 June 2007 17:52 (sixteen years ago) link

Guys Pushing Tin is worse than Serendipity.

nickalicious, Thursday, 14 June 2007 17:53 (sixteen years ago) link
