I'd say that was more than a hint. It was an explicit warning to retract the statement or otherwise make an apology, or else face litigation and a shitload of damages for running his mouth.

rightfully so too, there's just something about Jimmy that seems to piss these guys off more than the other late night dudes, I think it's because Jimmy Kimmel is exactly the sort of person these guys wish actually liked them.
