i didn't have an opinion on Lizzo at all, i don't know if this is her thing, but i think anyone whose positive attitude inevitably works to draw the attention back to themselves raises red flags. there are a ton of celebs (definitely not all) along these lines who are beloved but whose narcissism is in full bloom at all times.

the Postmates thing really bothered me at the time, how you treat service workers is 100% the biggest tell about a person (idc if that means I'm doing the I always thought she was bad news thing, it's been proven right so many times in my personal life)

I really don't have any patience for someone who sics a mob of people on somebody over something really inconsequential. like, sure, in some cases it might be warranted, but over mundane bullshit, it's just a form of self-gratification, to 'dominate' and 'defeat' somebody publicly

fun story I have a friend who moved to Detroit about 10 years ago who actually met Lizzo on a dating app. obviously she wasn't famous back then but I remember him telling me about her, like she sent him a bunch of bedroom recordings and videos. I remember watching some of them! clearly she was talented but it blew my mind to see her become actually famous a couple years later. unfortunately they didn't really jive so they stopped talking after a couple of dates. feel like I should check in and see if she ever made him get freaky with a banana or whatever.

Some of these accusations are fairly extreme/shocking, even by the typical standards of celebrity bullying/power-tripping.

I don't follow Lizzo outside of her music, so all this is new to me. (That nonsense over Postmates is flat out insane all around.) I will say if really bad shit ever came out about Prince, I'd imagine it would be like all of this.

Yeah that's a long-standing bullshit copout to be an abusive asshole. It IS true that as a performer, these high standards can lead to tense moments - people getting called out for not doing what they're supposed to, being frustrated after a long day. All that is fine and usually doesn't lead to blowups like these.
